people talked bad about cole....whaaaaah

Oct 13, 2014, 8:27 AM

He was playing and he wasn't the best QB on the team

It's not his fault the coaches made a bad decision

The bulk of the criticism...of his play...has been justified

Fans need thicker skin...players have it

I think he will take advantage of the opportunity and lead this team to victory next few weeks

I love Cole's heart, but my complaint

Oct 13, 2014, 8:39 AM

is a 5th year senior HAS to know not to allow the clock to run out in the field of play before halftime. And not even get a chance at field goal?! What if Louisville had scored that last TD. Think the failure to even get off a FG attempt before half would be big???

on that first half play...

Oct 13, 2014, 8:53 AM

what made it even worse is that Mike Williams was WIDE open about 5+ yds deep in the endzone waving his hands.

Charlie Whitehurst and Bobby Williamson say hello...

Oct 13, 2014, 9:10 AM

... I can still see him breaking wide open on Miami. But Charlie never did.

Pick any QB and you'll see something similar at some point.

I just shuddered thinking of that play....

Oct 13, 2014, 2:24 PM

completely forgot.

When I get perfect then I will get on the internet and call

Oct 13, 2014, 2:39 PM [ in reply to I love Cole's heart, but my complaint ]

them out on every decision they make that doesn't turn out to perfection. Meaning you will never see me calling out a player on any public forum. They have coaches that handle that.

Not at all about fans having thicker skin, it is about

Oct 13, 2014, 8:53 AM

loyalty to your program. I am very glad that Dabo and co. motivate better than this. Cole's the man now, like it or not. When DW comes back he may not be. But his actions are a tribute to the class and teaching that his parents have done and he should be commended for his loyalty to his team.

Glad you aren't a coach, we'd have to be competing with GT for the 1 stars, b/c no good players would come here.

He's a 22 y/o kid, a good young man and a great example of a true Tiger.

Cole's talent is not as good as Watson. Don't you think Cole

Oct 13, 2014, 9:05 AM

knows that? Every player in every game makes mistakes. Cole has worked his butt off, never complains and whines, and played hurt Saturday. He is the best we have right now, and I for one will support him no matter what. Criticising strategy, tactics, and high paid coaches is one thing. Bad mouthing a young player who is doing the very best he can is quite another.

Is it bad mouthing or just calling out what is seen? True, no fan should call for a players head but it seems when fans call out players mistakes, they get jumped on.

Ten posts in 7 years? Think of all the wisdom we have missed***

I'm sorry that I have a job, wife and kids don't post constantly on the board. Let me guess, now I'm a "coot" because I don't post all the time...geesh.

Well bless your heart. Someone calling out someone for

calling out players. Wow.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Everyone needs to get off Cole's back.

Oct 13, 2014, 10:07 AM

True, he made some boneheaded decisions that a 5th year senior should never make. He also threw into coverage several times and was lucky to only have one INT. He should also not be running QB draws (QB sneaks, yes).

However, I will NEVER question this kid's heart or desire. We all saw a really gutsy performance on Saturday. Cole was hurt and did not prepare to play during the week, yet he brought home (with substantial help) a huge victory. We will need Cole this Saturday. BC will not be easy. What we need more is better coaching decisions from Dabo and Chad.
