Cole...?

Nov 5, 2014, 8:48 AM

TV sucked last night so I watched the GA/Clemson game. Where has the Cole Stout been that played the first half???? He was focused and played really well. He threw three great passes to Williams and Peake that were dropped and one long pass to Hopper he was being held on...even ran the ball well and picked up two critical first downs. I am by no way a Cole fan but he played really in the first half. Just not sure what has happen since then, he does not have the same focus as he did then.

I think his injury is a lot worse than we all think it is***

"IDIOT POSTER OF THE MONTH SO FAR...GWP-- You have won IPM Award for your failure to completely comprehend a clear post & then choose to attack someone who points out your ignorance. While you are not yet in the same No Class Catagory as deRoberts, ClemTiger117 & Tigerdug23, you are getting closer to the Sewer Dwellers." - coachmac

But the haters don't care. Now they are griping about how good he was when they hated how he played

Losing your starting job and injuring your should probably lowers your confidence down a little bit...

he also like to focus on his receivers to the point where the coverage usually meets up with the ball.

i think other teams have had time to scout his weaknesses

Nov 5, 2014, 8:56 AM

where UGA didn't pick up on them until the second half. I think others teams disguise coverages to confuse him and another bad habit of his is that he stares down where he goes with the ball as soon as its snapped. DB's love the tip off and Louisville should've capitalized on it more but didn't. I understand he doesn't have much time but you can't tip off your pass to the defense. At this point I don't think you can fix that with it causing more problems.

Teams watch film..

If Cole's first option is open, he is going to put it on the money. Unfortunately, even fans can pick up his lack of progressions. A safety will read his eyes all day. With that being said, Deshaun is so impressive to me because of his ability to hit the number 2 and 3 receivers as a freshman.

I also think the injuries to our line have hurt him. You have to understand how hard it is to get an O-Line to play as a unit, especially when you have a different combination every week.

Game film - Teams found out that he can't read defenses.***

Why arent you a Cole fan?

Nov 5, 2014, 9:47 AM

He has held team together last few weeks, we havent lost, we are still in position to win 10 games, he has played through shoulder injury, defense has shut people down and every projection has us in a Major bowl game.

Tell me, why arent you a fan? Would you feel better if he was throwing for 350 yards and we went 1-2 last 3 games?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree completely. The guy has done everything asked of him,

Nov 5, 2014, 9:50 AM

including taking the high road when he lost his long-awaited starting job to a true freshman and coming into a game with an injury and doing what he could go get us the wins. I know Watson is our starter but if you don't appreciate Cole Stoudt and his contribution to this program, I think you're nuts.

Who said that Cole's contribution isn't appreciated?

Nov 5, 2014, 10:09 AM

You can appreciate his contribution to the team, while critiquing his play. This is a Clemson Football discussion board, so don't get sensitive when people discuss Clemson Football on it.

The problem is there is too much "critiquing" and not enough appreciation being thrown Cole's way. I know, you just don't get and this is a Clemson Football discussion board but dayum, you guys sound like the coots b!tching, I mean critiquing one of their players. I just happen to believe we should be above the coots.Just my opinion.

He just looks like he is pressing, trying to be Watson. In the Georgia game he took what was there now he is throwing the ball into coverages..just does not seem relaxed. I do not want to hear the crap about he lost his job...his presence is different. Has nothing to do with winning or losing.
