I agree - the only thought is the coaches do not want to hear someone asking why our best players are not on the field when they could be.

This just seems to encapsulate the program at the moment. It’s almost as if the staff just doesn’t care. For a program that has struggled so badly on offense,you’d think they’d put someone back there who had the chance to break a long one.Lord knows we could use a big special teams play

We've got like four running backs and at least that many WRs who seem unlikely to even see the field this season, barring injury. Why we couldn't groom a couple of them to return KOs is beyond me. Instead we've got our 230lb power back, who is possibly our most important offensive player, who will be getting teed off on if he ever does get to return something. I have absolutely no idea what we are thinking there.

I really thought we might see Ty Kelly in that role. All the praise about TL being dynamic with ball in hand and we haven't seen it yet after injury last year. We heard Streko would help us eventually and yet to see the player.
We need to get rid of all these 5'8 and shorter players. And not the inflated height guys, real heights. We have short team and lots of guys under 6' that are last minute takes. Not a lot of Steve Smith guys around.

that really in some ways reveals a worse problem:
softball press - on one had the courage to ask Dabo this question. And a few others, such as: why was Cade playing with two minutes left and down 30 points. Don't the other guys need reps? - you know, the same guys that you said preseason were able to handle the offense if called upon.
We have a softball press and that is why we are still all on this board scratching or heads with no answers.
On that note, the kickoffs aren't returned, and if one is return-able, it'll just be fair-catched. in the case of Georgia, you can probably throw in that we were so shell-shocked from last year's opener at Duke and so "Running skeereed" of turnovers that we just wanted the ball security of a seasoned guy to fair-catch the ball if needed.

How many kicks have you seen returned by a KOR in the last couple of years from a power 5 team
Exactly
I think Dabo knew they would all be in the endzone and if by chance there was a miss kick then he would have someone that would be less likely to make a mistake
This may be the smartest coach decision for the whole game and yall still complain

Really a moot point. No one returns kickoffs anymore.
Start them at the 25 and avoid the kick to the back of the end zone.
