Big 12 commissioner Bret Yormark at BIG 12 media day (today) stated that he was going to pursue adding FSU and Clemson to the BIG 12.
Ross Dellinger reported on this. The remarks have led to lots of speculation on the internet. Yormark says the BIG 12 would pay more than the ACC.
I can't see FSU or Clemson in the BIG 12. That would certainly not bring any teams to DV that I would care to see.

Hmmm. Since part of their 31.7 million per school contract is paid by FOX he may could get them to sweeten the pot for Clemson and FSU in an uneven revenue situation but is he going to be able to get more money from ESPN?

So adding SMU, Cal & Stanford is sleeping...while not necessarily being football powers as of late there is more academic prowess in any one of them than half the big whatever combined! Those three needed a home just as the FSWTC did years ago...and all three have money...FSU has to swipe theirs!

In what universe does academics have anything to do with all this conference realignment?
I’ll answer that for you. It doesn’t. It’s about money money money. SEC and B1G pay a substantial amount more and that’s why Clemson and FSU want out. If the ACC were at least close we wouldn’t care and stay put.

Good point. If the Big12 were to give a lopsided contract to Clemson/FSU the disparity between the schools would lead to an even bigger gap. Would Clemson/FSU bring enough revenue to the Big 12 to help other noncompetitive schools improve. Fans aren't going to want to watch lambs get slaughtered every week and networks aren't going to pay money if there are no fans.

Yes, taking the scraps that begged to join is sleeping. When the PAC was imploding, ACC could have at least tried to lure the bigger brands.

You wouldn't care to see Clemson play Oklahoma State? TCU? I was at the last TCU game in DV and it was a big deal even before they moved up to the Big12. Deion in DV? Utah? I'd much prefer the SEC or B1G but give me the Big12 over the current joke of a conference 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Agreed. Playing OKSt, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah, Arizona, Arizona St and WVU would be the most interesting. The rest not so much.

Baseball would be ok. They're definitely a third tier conference at best behind the SEC and ACC. But it wouldn't be as much of a baseball wasteland as joining the Big 10 and having to go play at Purdue in mid-March or something.
