Clemson vs. USuCk....it's gettin that time.

And before I get a lecture on 'we need to focus on Wake,' CAN IT! We don't play, and as fans, we're afforded the luxury of looking ahead...
So Clemson has a lot of talent, albeit a large portion of it injured at the moment. But it won't be that way for the rest of the year...soon we'll have some of our starters back that could be a pretty big impact on the O side of the ball.
USuCk, for the most part, has sucked it up this year and has fallen way, way short of the preseason hype. Needless to say, they are nothing compared to what they were expected to be. Their defense is Swiss cheese, and their O is very anemic at times. But do any of you worry with the recent Allbarn squabble? Is that AU is just overrated?
So my question is this...what do you think will go down in the Valley this year? I think we're all very much expecting the streak to end, and with that, the short lived success of USuCk....BUT, what if we lose? What happens then? I'm assuming we ALL think this should be a win with the talent discrepancy and home turf advantage. So what if we drop another to the coots? What will be the reaction of this fanbase and the expected change (if any) with our Tigers? I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of short fuses if we sustain an L at the end of the season?

Their offense is decent.
But if two of those 4th down conversions fail, SCar gets killed.
Our defense will be able to get more pressure than Auburn did. Thompson struggles if he is pressured. I expect alot of blitzes.

I'm pretty confident that the streak will end this year. With the defensive talent and Deshaun Watson at the helm, we should hear the cannon roaring quite a few times. " there's ORANGE IN THE END ZONE "

I think we will win this year and return to where we should be, beating USC. But to address your other comment, look at some of the negative things posted when we win so I think you can imagine the tone if we lose.

We should win out . I expect to win every game we've left , including against our unknown Orange Bowl opponent (fingers crossed for Notre Dame ) .
I trust this defense now. Thinking back it has been a long , long time since I could muster the faith in our defensive unit , but this group has earned it . They will , and have ...stop people from executing.
Deshaun Watson has proven he can be a special player when he is healthy and I expect there to be little to no drop off from his pre-broken finger performance because I think he is just a super talented and uber confident guy . I think our offense is pretty good when he is on the field.
Coots are decent on offense and I expect Otis will attempt to run it more than throw it to keep us off the field on offense , and because he understands that we have a defense that can cause serious disruption and turn the ball over .
No question we should beat the Coots , the only factor in my mind is what will be the final margin. I lean toward a Clemson 14 point win . They will score and keep it close , but our D is legitimately nasty and will cause a separation .

have adopted the same attitude about Clemson/South Carolina.
That is, we usually toss most all the season's stats, games, etc. out the window for that game, for both teams usually play with a renewed intensity, meaning the outcome is a toss up.
Of course, we want the win; so do the Gamecocks. But the thinking has been that our staff and team have to "get their minds right," forget past games and pull out all the stops. Most importantly, our staff has to anticipate Coach Spurrier's mindset, if possible, for he will definitely attack our weaknesses.
Spurrier via Thompson will come out attacking on all cylinders, as they did against Auburn. They'll not only try to run Davis and Wilds, but Thompson will throw to both to take advantage of their running abilities. We wouldn't expect Thompson to try to run against our defense, but watch Spurrier attempt it, more than once.
Ward will have the Gamecock defense blitzing against our QB...even DW in attempts to rattle him due to lack of playing time this season. They'll concentrate on defending against the pass while trying to overpower our O-line among other things.
Regardless, the most important prep is our mental one: "Get your minds right...get them right!"

weakness we have on Def but Venebles can adjust. They will score on us but not enough to win IMO. Of course, I've predicted us to win the last 2 years too so take it for what it's worth!
