With the recent departures of Coaches Goodwin and Streeter, Coach Dabo Swinney has announced new changes to the team. Despite going 10-2 in 2022 and two straight 8 win seasons in 2023 and 2024, Coach Swinney has said he has complete faith in his team and culture, and that the national championship he won nearly a decade ago shows his ability to lead a program.
Coach Swinney is announcing that Will Swinney will take over offensive play calling duties for the Tigers. Potentially seen as controversial hire considering the younger Swinney has only been coaching for 2 years, Head Coach Swinney cites his "all in" culture and work ethic. "Listen ... no one works harder than Will. He came onto this squad as a walk on and earned a scholarship. If that doesn't show dedication and hard work i don't know what does" the elder Swinney said. He will be helped by the new addition of Drew Swinney as the WR coach, and the bus driver during Dabo's high school years as OL coach. "I have the utmost respect for Gus Monroe. He's a big guy and he managed us kids so well. I saw him throw some blocks some days because let me tell you...we we're rowdy back then"
On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Swinney is elevating Mickey Conn to full time DC and his former college roommate Jody Evans to co-DC. This despite the defensive side of the ball falling from it's elite status the last 3 years. Coach Swinney says he has full faith in their "all in" culture and hard work. "Let me tell ya man ... Coach Conn and Coach Evans, when we were in school at Bama together, whoa man, these cats were the first in the locker room and the last out. Hardest workers I ever saw."
In addition Coach Swinney is naming his 10th grade English teacher as an analyst as well his Sunday Bible School teacher as the head of recruitment. Despite neither having any background in football, Coach Swinney says he's confident in their work ethic, dedication to the culture and commitment to the team.
Clemson opens up the season in August.

Always calling people coots when someone challenges the program.
I suffered through the Tommy West years. Trust me ... no one wants Clemson to succeed more than me but Dabo is making a ton of stupid decisions lately. Maybe Covid is foggy his brain or something. I don't know.
But this is just looking more and more like a slow moving disaster which was entirely preventable by Dabo showing some of the humility he had when he got promoted. He's drinking his own koolaide too much.
If he wants to educate kids and get them degrees, then great. But don't sit around and tell us we are going to win National Championships too because in the new world that isn't going to happen.

I am not an iptay donor and I never will be. I love Clemson but they don’t need my money. Children who don’t have drinkable water need my charity. Children who are forced into marriage and forced circumcisions need my charity. Children who are orphans do to needless bombings and unwinnable wars need my charity. Not Iptay.
And I’ll gladly discuss my displeasure with Dabo face to face. I have nothing to lose. So if y’all want to set a time up I’d be more than happy to make the trip back to South Carolina. In the meantime I’ll make the world actually a better place and be a keyboard warrior to boot

A little bit funny. But if anyone can hire friends and coach potatoes to win a natl championship it’s Coach Swinney.
Like Zadig, it's a piece of philosophical fiction -- an appreciation for Voltaire helps wash the story down with a Bud Light.
This experiment will be interesting to watch from a play calling, conditioning, and recruiting perspective.

Oh dear, UK is avoiding me! What will I do??? After the Miura beat down of UK last month, I can understand his aversion to taking on Miura Tiger. Pity. It was so much fun, but I'm pretty sure UK ain't gonna chance another embarrassment. Better to just fade into the woodwork!

No offense fellow tigers, but I don't have to be blinded by the greatness of Dabo. He truly has delivered an amazing decade, without a doubt. But as a man who preaches humility, openness and continued growth, he certainly is not following those words.
Dabo, when hired, was a servant to the Clemson community. He is not asking that anymore. He is telling us to follow him based on past successes. That is not servant leadership.
I want Clemson to succeed for the next decade and right now these moves are curious at best. Prove me wrong. I hope so. But many many empires and companies have collapsed due to the hubris of their leaders.

In my opinion - and that’s all I can speak for - mocking the President is very Un-American, regardless of who he is and whether he does or does not share my (conservative) political beliefs. Especially the profanity laden things that have become common during the last few administrations. I may not agree with them but childish or vulgar mocking of any person is exactly that - childish and vulgar.

I love Clemson. It shouldn’t bother you so much that I might have a different opinion than you.

TBH - I thought your OP was harmless and could be taken as a jab at the fans concerned about Dabo’s hirings as easily as some kind of call to arms about the state of the program. Even if we disagree in this topic we’re entitled to our opinions. What you haven’t done is spam this board relentlessly with troll posts encouraging people to spew vitriol towards the coaches and athletes of our football program. So I was under no illusion that you might have been a Jk scock.
