Clemson is at a disadvantage recruiting players and coaches.

I never dreamed of having the success that we've enjoyed for many years now. Like my employees, some of you have gotten spoiled.

It's really easy to be at a disadvantage on coaches when you don't interview any outside of the program.

I am sure he interviewed them many moons ago for the coaches we have now. He prepares like no other. They are in his army to do his work. These off the street coaches are 9-1. Better than a lot of other teams. Go Tigers.

What? Your crazy. Clemson has proven to be a top 2 or so program in the current CFP era…###

Clemson is much smaller in size and tucked away in the foothills. We lack the larger alumni base and fertile recruiting grounds. If you haven't noticed, we do not have the resources of other schools concerning the new era of NIL. What other big name coaches were headed here and who would have stayed after winning a championship? Don't fool yourself with school pride. Dabo is the reason that Clemson is a national brand, with multiple rings. To say otherwise is delusional.

Pipe down old fart. You also remember thirty years of mediocre football and disappointment.

2018 is getting further and further in the rear view mirror. It is true that we were an elite program for 4 or 5 years and we have become a little spoiled, expecting the ride to continue. We are still a good program but no longer a dominant, elite program.

Clemson could hire just about any coach it wanted and almost any player it wants. This is just ridiculous lol

The only disadvantage Clemson has....
Nov 7, 2022, 4:22 PM

is when we self-impose it. Thankfully, Dabo did away with one of those disadvantages (OV during summer)...more are needed to be dealt with in order to be on equal footing with our competition (uga, bama, osu, etc....). I do have confidence in Dabo to adapt....he's shown it before.
Not sure what prior years has to do with this year. When the mantra is "Best is the Standard" and you are being paid over $10M annually, when real bad losses occur against inferior teams (yes ND is inferior), the spotlight becomes harsher--comes with the territory. We've been living on the edge for several years now...this type of outcome should not have been a surprise to anyone.

I simply appreciate what this coach has done for this program. You above all should get that. Ironic.

I appreciate it as well, but he isn’t doing it for free.

The last couple of times out against elite teams = loss. LSU -> OSU. Then getting boat raced by ND. So…..I’m greatly appreciative for what he has done, but the “game” in 2022 is NOT the same game from 2016 or 2018. New rules, new players & new ways of doing things. Dabo is one the most highly compensated football coaches in the nation, he has earned it. That does not equate to being above discussion and criticism from fans/alumni.
