Nothing new, huh? We got hosed by ESPN. This is the biggest game that this rivalry has produced in a longtime, yet ESecPN has chosen to go to a game that means nothing now. If ESecPN was smart, they would’ve put this weeks game times on a 6 day hold and also waited to announce the College Gameday location until after the conclusion of the A&M-Auburn game last night.
I guess in the SEC it just means more. I’m tired of seeing Clemson getting hosed, but until we leave this conference you’ll see it happen year after year.

How So?
Both Clemson and Carolina could be fighting for a playoff spot next weekend. With A&M’s loss yesterday, they only chance they have of making the playoffs is by pretty much blowing out Texas and have a lot happen in front of them. The chances of this happening is slim.

Win that game and they are in the playoff. Both Texas and A&M have much more direct paths to the playoffs than either us or South Carolina. Texas and A&M both control their own destiny for a playoff spot, neither us nor South Carolina do.

Winner of the Tex/A&M game goes to the SEC champ vs UGA. Our game might be for an at-large bid.
Hope Texas wins and knocks A&M out. Don't care who wins in Tex/UGA SECCG, but UGA being champ would be better for our SOS and decisions the committee might have looking at our schedule.

The hatred is so deep between Texas and A&M that, at one point, every TV in America will tune in at one point. There will be no bigger rivalry game than this one.

You’re correct on your post though even though I think if this game had been in Columbia it might very well be the game day sight and a night game.
Who cares ultimately as that is all fluff around the edges to what matters which is mudstomping the SEChickens.

The whining on this bored about ESPN and the SEC gets old. If not for ESPN we wouldn't get the year round network exposure for all sports and the 40m a year that we currently get.

If you take your orange glasses off, this see the Texas / A&M game much bigger. Clemson not SC are going to playoffs, and neither deserve to. Texas is in and A&M controls their destiny, unlike us or coots. The national draw for that game is much bigger than ours as well, even without the playoff implications.
