Clemson, SC—Clemson shot two strokes better as a team, but remained in 13th place after two rounds of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, GA on Saturday. The 14 team field will completed the tournament on Sunday

Virginia, ranked first in the nation, has a one shot lead over ACC rival Duke at 17-under-par entering Sunday’s final round.

The 14-team tournament includes nine of the top 30 teams in the nation who are competing on the par 72 course that is 6,993 yards in length.

Colin Salema, Thomas Higgins and Lucas Augustsson all had rounds of one over par 73 on Saturday to pace the team. Oscar Bradkjaer had a 74 and Rich Wills had a 76.

Salema and Bradkjaer are Clemson’s top two golfers through two rounds with 146 totals. Salema has had consecutive rounds of 73, while Bradkjaer has had an even par 72 and a two over par 74. Salema had a bogey free 34 on the back nine on Saturday to finish strong.

Higgins had a one over par 73 on Saturday, four shots better than his opening round 77. The native of Ireland shot a two under par 34 on the front nine, including and eagle three on the par five, 540-yard ninth hole.

Augustsson had an opening round 77 and also improved by four shots in his second round. Sophomore Rich Wills had a 76 on Saturday after a 73 on Friday.

Sunday’s round will completed the fall season for the Tigers, who entered the tournament ranked 27th in the nation with a record of 42-9-2 against the field in its first four tournaments.
