Kissing a teammate on the forehead is a bad look for the university? I don't kiss my buddies on the forehead but the way it was reported this is a G-rated incident compared to what they made it sound like happened.

Recent assumptions about former players that are destined for the Clemson HOF keep getting turned upside down. Praying that whatever is going on with Wilkins he finds what he needs to get healthy. I don’t think the leaks from the Raiders sources is helpful. With a dispute over the remaining guaranteed money, you do have to be wondering about their motives.

Weirdly unique and disappointing.
Probably should have hired some massage therapists and later wrote a much smaller check than 34 million or whatever.
Nonetheless, go Tigers! Beat LSU.

I imagine that this is about more than the one issue of inappropriate affection.

Kissing a teammate on the forehead when it was not welcomed, while weird, isn’t grounds for dismissal. It seems that his behavior was probably odd on other occasions as well. After all, this is the same guy who has been caught on film grabbing other dudes’ privates during games. That’s weird and extremely inappropriate, period.
The teammate’s comment about getting help seemed to be directed at Christian. I am sorry to hear that he might be dealing with some personal stuff. I hope he seeks help and gets it. We can only speculate what it is about, but it seems to relate to mental health. I hope the Raiders and/or the league are helping him get the assistance he needs.
I do think his refusal to have the surgery the team doctors recommended is playing a role in his being released, but there is clearly more to it than that. Teams can’t and don’t just release players in this situation. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

I can see both sides of the coin.... we all know of CWs propensity to grab opposing player's junk and I'm sure that hasn't stopped or other crazy locker room antics.
But.... I can also see a team looking for any reason to go along with accusing him of not following through with a surgery as any reason to cut a player that takes up a large piece of their salary cap who only played 5 games last season to get rid of his salary from the salary cap and using an "HR issue" in the locker room as another reason to back up what they did.
Side note... I have NEVER heard of an NFL player reporting someone to "HR".... I have heard filing a "grivance with the league", but I guess NFL players are employees of the organization and the organization has to have an HR dept.
Do you think new players from the team have to go through HR orientation when they join a team? Do they have to sign a piece of paper saying they read and agree to the HR handbook? Do they have to do annual online training every year? I have a feeling that is not similar to what the rest of us have to deal with when we join an organization.
In my opinion.... Did CW mess around in the locker room and did he maybe grab another player and forcefully give him a kiss on the forehead as a joke? I can see it. Did the player not welcome it perhaps? Maybe. BUT..... What I see in this situation is an organization that is looking for any reason to get rid of a high paid player who is not getting the surgery that they want and was out most of last season and using this situation as another excuse to move on from him knowing his history of grabbing guys junk that is well documented.

of HR training/compliance things folks like us have to. Those are big organizations with plenty of various staffers in different roles that the players interact with. They would be foolish organizations from a liability standpoint not to require things like that. I also believe the fact that an HR issue has now leaked publicly is a big liability for the Raiders as that is not supposed to happen. The fact that it is Vegas where everything that happens in Begas is supposed to stay in Vegas makes it even more ironic.

there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s hard to just come out especially in the nfl. He does need to dial it back. He’s hurting his financial potential bc he is such a great player.

The whole thing smells funny. Kissing someone on the forehead is not a cutable offense in a sports locker room unless other stuff happened. If it was only a kiss on the forehead why would the Raiders even leak this? Unless they were cutting him for injury reasons and trying to blame it on something else to recoup their guaranteed money.

Yeah, regardless I don't think it was just a cut and dry situation. It's going to get messier for Wilkins or for the Raiders before all is said and done.
