No it wouldn’t. It’s not a holiday at many companies. They would lose too much TV revenue.

National Title game on a Saturday. That way, you don't have to wait for west coast to get off work at 8 eastern time. Have it on Saturday at 7. Everyone is off the next day as well.

The only reason the Super Bowl starts at 6:30 instead of 8 is it’s the one big sporting event that draws millions of casual and non sports fans. The NFL has successfully made it an event that reaches beyond sports fans with the commercials and halftime show. The college NC game would never have that.

No, that’s not the only reason. It’s not even the main reason. The game is on a Sunday, which opens up all sorts of juicy time slot options.
