Things are not all they seem between our new OC and the staff. Dabo has been working to increase communication that has almost broken down, questions were being asked if there was a problem because no one seemed to be speaking directly, too much indirect relaying of things. It has been said that early on, Dabo treated the offensive room like a democracy and Riley was met with resistance when he pointed out conflicting ideas and that resulted in a limited install and we now have finger pointing without fingers being pointed.

I bet we would hear how great things are, how well Dabo and Garrett work together, how much the players love playing for Garrett, and what a wonderful addition he's been.

Are you sure Riley was turned loose to call the plays at TCU?
He was OC for a head coach who made a career as an OC. I'm guessing those habits die hard with former OCs.
Dabo probably has less input into play calling than Sonny Dykes.

I was never that impressed with Riley's O at TCU. He had a good rb, a very good wr, and one man wrecking crew at QB. There was nothing that creative about it.

i think it would be illogical to assume that all is well. Riley had to feel pretty lonely being an OC in a new place and team without a single member from your previous highly successful team. And then to see that the talent level is just not what he may have been led to expect. Bunch of projects and walk ons at wide receivers, and prima donna running back, scatter brain inexperienced qb, and a bunch of candy ##### on the OL. Your best player is a hybrid te/wr who will play neither position in the pros and who will not gain one pound nor one ounce of muscle in the off season. Other than that, how was the play Mrs Lincoln?

Based on Venables coming to Clemson because he was asked to share defensive responsibilities, this wouldn't seem logical. Riley was a big name hire who knocked a good, cheating Michigan defense out of the CFP. While Dabo has the authority to overrule would he have the reason? Jeff Scott and Tony Elliot were groomed to make decisions so they could move on to HC jobs. Why would Dabo treat Riley different?

Just curious -- what's the sourcing on this?
TNET or somewhere else? Seems like something like this would've had a lot of hits on the board.

If that is true, they all should be embarrassed of themselves. Riley has had more success in his short career than the rest of the offensive staff combined.
