Call Me Crazy, But Kyler Murray is NOT a #1 Football Draft

Apr 25, 2019, 3:23 PM

Pick. That really is saying future routine Pro-Bowler, don't see it.

I agree, I don't see it either.

I concur. Chose wrong sport. Will be a bust IMO***

Why is that?

Apr 25, 2019, 3:34 PM

He has video game speed and agility. His arm strength is elite. He produced at the same level, in the same system, as Baker Mayfield who had a fantastic rookie year.

NFL QB Yes, Perennial All Pro NO***

I wouldn't have drafted Baker #1 overall either. Seems like a great kid who is a dynamic athlete with plenty of arm talent, but QB is very difficult to project in the NFL and he will have to overcome natural obstacles that other similar QB's of the past have not. He could definitely turn out to be solid, but that's a lot of gamble for #1 overall.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you watch the NFL this year?

Apr 26, 2019, 10:51 AM

Baker Mayfield is a superstar already. There is no 'could definitely turn out to be solid', dude is ALREADY solid with a ceiling of MVP.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're not crazy

Apr 25, 2019, 3:35 PM

He reminds me of Doug Flutie.

Good, but not a great player in the NFL.

The guy is not as big or tall as DW4, and he doesn't have the arm. Deshaun had every intangible any NFL scout could ask for. He had a Championship pedigree etc... and people still knocked him heading into the draft. Well, he's shown them.

As for Kyler Murray, he's quicker/faster than DW4. That's it, nothing else, nada. Kyler Murray isn't going to "change the NFL.....please.

Some idiot GM is eventually going to lose his job because he picks this guy #1.

Murray's arm is MUCH stronger than Watson's

Apr 25, 2019, 3:41 PM

Don't forget that Murray is 1st round outfielder prospect with a cannon for an arm.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure Murray's arm is that much stronger than

Apr 25, 2019, 3:55 PM

Watson's. His arm also isn't exactly a "cannon" in the outfield, scouts graded him a 30 on a 20-80 scale for baseball.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Every NFL scout loves his arm. This is common knowledge...

Apr 26, 2019, 10:43 AM

The only knock on Watson was his ball velocity.

Apr 26, 2019, 5:26 AM [ in reply to Murray's arm is MUCH stronger than Watson's ]

I'll take your word for it, but I don't remember it that way.

As far as his baseball arm, the throwing motion for baseball and football don't necessarily translate. Just because you can throw a football hard doesn't mean you would have a cannon for an arm in baseball and vice versa.

My buddy who's an ex-baseball coach at an SEC school explained as much.

Even if you remove baseball, EVERY scout loves his arm

Apr 26, 2019, 10:44 AM

Most have it graded as elite for an NFL QB.

Watson had the lowest ball velocity of any 1st round QB this decade. That was the only knock on him coming out of college.

Nope, he'll be playing baseball in 4 years. ***

Depends on the system they run. With Kingsbury I believe he will thrive. He has a great arm and is as quick as they come. Seems to he smart with the ball.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm already sick of the hype ... before it even starts.

Apr 25, 2019, 4:27 PM

Even if he turns out to be good, he won't be nearly as good as he's made out to be.

Agree. His mobility is his strength and it will decrease rapidly in the NFL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Passing is his strength. Idk why people push this narrative***

While I agree with that, can we still call you crazy?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm kind of interested to see how he does. he saw the field

Apr 26, 2019, 11:56 AM

Surprisingly well to me. He had a pretty large OL at OK.

If he can still see the field well, gets to play in a simpler college style system [Kingsbury] I think he is better than Russell Wilson who has done pretty well.
