Cade/Top-12 Prediction

Cade looks like a real Heisman candidate.
He is not just playing as good as any QB in the country, probably been the most consistent since week 1, but he is doing it so impressively.
He just coincidentally plays like a mix between Deshaun and Trevor. It just happens that they are both former Clemson QBs.
I love what Garrett Riley has been able to do with him. There’s been light years of improvement, and I have to credit the coaches and Cade both for buying in over the offseason.
1 - Oregon 2 - Texas 3 - Penn State 4 - Ohio State 5 - Georgia 6 - Clemson 7 - Miami 8 - Alabama 9 - LSU 10 - Tennessee 11 - Iowa State 12 - Notre Dame
They may keep Miami at #6. But don’t get it twisted, Miami doesn’t belong in the top-10. They’ve played 2 ACC games, and needed miracles to win both.
Meanwhile, Clemson is making ACC teams look pretty crappy. I think that may stick out. They must know that if Miami schedules Georgia, they lose probably even worse than we did.
I don’t even know how they’re above Alabama or Tennessee. Miami hasn’t even played a game as tough as Alabama’s win versus Georgia, or Tennessee’s win at Oklahoma.
If they already had Georgia above Miami, why move Alabama below Miami even for losing one?
Oregon and Texas will flip back if Texas beats Georgia next week.
But, if Georgia beats Texas, you better get ready for a whole bunch of chaos.

You are forgetting that Miami crushed Florida. Now I know they aren’t great but they get a boost for being in the SEC. Miami doesn’t have much meat left on the schedule anyway. Louisville is probably their toughest remaining regular season game but nothing is overly scary.

Miami is insanely overrated
I thought Cam Ward was an elite QB. But he shows too much inconsistency and loss of focus sometimes. He’s the typical situation of a player having immense talent but becoming lackadaisical.
He came back against Cal from 35-10. That’s special. Especially on the road at night.
But, he begins a game like that against Clemson in the ACC Championship, it won’t be pretty just let me say that.
And I feel like you know that.

Oh I completely agree but that doesn’t mean the committee will see things the same way. I suspect they won’t.
Who knows maybe FSU will show up for that game (doubtful).

It's hard to read posts like this and not feel that our strength of schedule is causing some delusion among our fanbase.

What was our strength of schedule in 2018?
Before we beat Alabama, by 4 touchdowns, we played cupcakes all year.
They even said Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl was an easy path for us.
And you know what? This offense is blowing that offense out of the water.
And another thing, I think I’m starting to believe this is the best offense Clemson’s ever had.
Stack that up with Dabo Swinney and his credentials, a top-5 talented national roster, and actual belief, and you have a national championship contender.
What the he** are you not seeing here?
Has Clemson lost to a team like Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Northern Illinois, Washington, etc.? No.
We haven’t even struggled with teams like that.
To be on your level, the strength of schedule won’t matter as much when the eye test is put in place, and also when top-8 teams start falling off because of pressure of late season games. We see it every year.
It’s inevitable.

Still thinking a CLEM player under CDS can win a Heisman?
Oct 13, 2024, 6:33 AM
|
|
WILL NEVER HAPPEN, EVER!
The sports media hates CDS for everything he stands for as a person of high character, integrity to his players, the game, his priorities in his approach to winning, drive to win the right way, and his personal Christian faith on open display.
It does NOT matter what statistics Cade puts up. He could pass for 10,000 yards, throw 60 TDs, and rush for 1,000 yars. He would NOT win the Heisman trophy.
Give up these delusions and discuss a topic that has some semblance of reality.
The Heisman sports media would not allow a CDS player to win an award that would in some tangential manner validate CDS as the great coach that he is. This was quite evident when Watson and Lawrence did not win the Heisman trophy.

I think so too
If If Georgia gets blown out against Texas, you think we would then be over Georgia?
I say we jump realistically to #8-#7, Georgia getting blown out would have to drop them below us if we win vs UVA
Has to be a Texas blowout obviously.
