Cade by the numbers

Briningstool only one target is disappointing. But having that many targets is good, Cade not set on a single player. If you look at Morgan Thomas's distribution chart, you can see that most passes were within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage (those do not include yards after catch).
Rewatching, the interception hit Shipley in the face, went thru his hands and bounced off his helmet... If it wasn't an INT it would be a 6th drop (Score was 21-7 at that point)
Let's see what adjustments Riley and company make this week and next.

Oregon is on the West coast of the United States. If you leave now you will have plenty of time to get out there to watch DJ play.

You watched him Sunday to right throwing darts while Cade threw duds. Did he complete a pass 20 yards down the field Monday?

Yeah I watched him Sunday and I supported him when he was the QB at Clemson. I want DJ to do well in life, but he had many issues as a QB at Clemson. I never said DJ sucks when he was a QB at Clemson. Cade is the QB at Clemson now and although I was disappointed in the game Monday , I don’t come on here and say he sucks.
I was trying to be helpful to you because you seemed pretty enamored with DJ. Just letting you know that he is now in Oregon and you are more than welcome to go support him. Fans like you will not be missed in Clemson.
I have been watching Clemson football since the sixties and I’ve seen some really great football and some really bad football during that time . I can be disappointed, frustrated and bewildered at times, I don’t say our players suck.

Cade will throw darts against Charleston Southern like DJ did against SJS. I want to see if DJ can throw darts against Utah and Cade can throw darts against FSU?
Then I can make an informed opinion about both...

Re: Cade by the numbers - Shipley

Sidebar … Shipley is not a naturally gifted receiver. This was never in more evidence in 2021, during our loss to Pitt, when he dropped a wide open easy to catch semi-long pass that would have easily scored a TD.
Shipley also was among the worst pass blockers since … gulp … C.J. Spiller.
(But Spiller was a terrific, naturally gifted receiver.)
To Shipley’s enduring credit, it is obvious that both his receiving skills and pass pro skills have vastly improved. He is a fine receiver out of the backfield and can catch the longer sideline vertical routes.
That said, Shipley is still not a gifted receiver. He should not be targeted for mid-range passes into the midst of a zone defense. Slip him out of the backfield on a vertical sideline route, or send him on a deception type route when the expectation would be for him to make a tail gate athlete type catch.
