He went 2-0 with a 9.75 ERA over nine appearances as a freshman, last appearing in the FSU series with five earned runs surrendered over 0.1 IP.

Before Clemson: No. 478 player and No. 157 righthander in the nation by Perfect Game … No. 68 player and No. 14 righthander in Florida by Perfect Game … first-team all-state selection … Northeast Florida player-of-the-year as a junior … all-academic team member as a senior … lettered four times in baseball at The Bolles School, where he was coached by Mike Boswell.

Personal: His father, Greg, played baseball at Johns Hopkins (1996-00) … pronounced KICK … majoring in general engineering … born Chayce Nicholas Kieck on July 9, 2005 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Thanks. Bakich was high on him. Thought he'd stick around a year. Ala bball, complete rebuild.

Hope it's EB running them off and not something else. Especially when we're getting the scholly bump.

He was just a freshman. As I posted above, EB raved about him. But this is our recruiting over the last few years. Hate to say it but Monte actually brought in higher rated players less a couple players over the last 2 years. Nothing against EB, we just haven't recruited the Jimmy and Joe's. Hopefully that changes with the new scholarship count.

But it's looking more like we're going the brownell route and going all in on the portal. Hopefully just a temporary band-aid until we get recruiting going up. Who knows, seems to be working for Brad. And this not meant to be a slam against Brad or EB. It is what it is.

He couldn’t stick around to see what he could do his sophomore year?

Sorry- I know I’m bitter about college athletics being destroyed.
Getting closer and closer to not following it at all.
It’s just sad.
