Rosenhaus is going directly to the advertisers and keeping the school completely out of it. However, he could be a pain for the coaching staff to "influence whether or not Westco red-shirts or starts game 1, gets enough balls thrown his way or gets enough touches. Those things could heavily influence a transfer decision if Westco isn't "featured" to up his value in NIL money...
So, I can agree, CFB is screwed if these agents begin influencing through pressure how teams play.

He will not get anywhere near the Clemson coaching staff. Dabo wil have no problem telling Rosenhaus to bug off.

Good for him as he now has an agent that can help generate additional NIL deals for him over his career here. Clemson has one of the top branding production facilities in the country, thanks largely to Dabo's vision and proactive take when NIL first came to light. Between the power of the paw, our outstanding national image, and access to our established branding resources, Clemson is a very attractive location for agents like this to have clients based.
The Drew Rosenhaus's of the world aren't getting rich off of NIL / booster cuts for a few years here and there - they make their bank off of legit marketing deals and pro contracts up ahead, a 'stable of stars' in their portfolio. You can rest assured that if Drew or any other agent were to engage in free agent style activity with our players then they would be barred from campus and enter persona non grata territory within the entire athletics program. We are not a program that you want to be shut out from for life if you're in that field.

From everything I've seen, Wesco isn't an ego or money driven kid. Seems pretty quiet and reserved actually. Just think this is a case of Rosenhaus betting he'll be a top WR before it's all said and done and he'll be in line as his next big NFL client.

THERE MANY TURDS OUT THERE JUST LOOKING FOR A PAYDAY BUT THANKFULLY THERE ARE STILL GOOD KIDS AND FAMILY OUT THERE LOOKING TO DO THINGS THE RIGHT WAY. CLEMSON WILL NOT MAKE YOU RICH BUT THEY WILL SURE TAKE CARE OF OUR KIDS AND TURN THEM INTO MEN INSTEAD OF THE OTHER OPTION.

You do realize that we use NIL to keep players here too, correct? And it's well funded? Phil Mafah and Barrett Carter didn't stay because they're "Clemson Men". While I'm sure there's some loyalty there, they stayed because they got paid. Wesco getting paid isn't that big of an issue either.

No he won't. Name one Clemson player who's produced that we've lost to the portal? Collins didn't produce, and Mukuba was always hurt, and being pushed by Barnes as the starter. If the player is good, Levon Kirkland will get them set up, and so will the 110Society.

I don’t mind agents taking a gamble on a potential future NFL player to lock them down as a future client. The agent is taking a gamble and could lose every penny of his money if the player is a bust. To me, it only becomes problematic if agents to start shopping college players to other college teams to get a bigger NIL deal.

This board is hysterical.
TNet: “We need to be using NIL!” Player gets agent to work on NIL opportunities. TNet: he’s gone. Just wants money. Greedy athletes.
Y’all realize we have many players with NIL agents? Y’all realize this is the way NIL is supposed to work? Y’all realize we put in place a system to help them do exactly this with our NIL Institute?
I ask, how are players supposed to find opportunities for NIL $ on their own? For most, they can’t. It’s either a school illegally paying players or they get someone (agent) to help them find opportunities. I guess they could just wait around and hope someone approaches them with a deal?
The only thing this board is good for is comedy.

I feel like you are the one who is confused. NIL for most players isn’t name image likeness anymore. NIL is pay for play to whose ever boosters cut the biggest check. An agent like Drew isn’t trying to get a local car dealership deal. That guy is shopping for the highest bidder period.

Pay for play is still illegal. Clemson plays by the rules.
How do you think DJ got the Dr Pepper gig? You think they came to him? How do you think Ship got his Chipotle gig? How do you think Cade got his deal with Rhoback? They all have agents.
An agent isn’t necessarily trying to get a player into a different school. An agent can help someone get bigger/better NIL deals.

Pay for play isn’t illegal if the NCAA isn’t enforcing the rule. Every school not named Clemson is doing it. Open your eyes man. I am not advocating for Clemson to do it but it is happening. Our lack of success in the transfer portal should be evidence enough. If Drew isn’t shopping his clients to the highest bidder depending on their success he isn’t doing his job.

You actually think something will come out of any of that? The NCAA has no power at this point. It is open season and the tooth paste isn’t going back in the tube at this point. They can’t possibly stop it at this point.

had to adjust to NIL also. They have been clear and restating from the start that pay for play is not legal. Enforcement is now catching up. There are a # of ongoing investigations already made public. The FSU investigation didn’t take long to render a punishment. They lost real schollies. Based on reports they may not have changed their practices - NCAA always punches a lot harder on repeats for the same thing and also while on probation. UT may be the first school to find out. NCAA is able to investigate a lot quicker now which does 2 things 1) schools lose the argument that guys are no longer there so why punish them 2) transfer rules that these players/courts insist on will make it easy for the NCAA to say - hey, these individuals can go somewhere else tomorrow so we’re not really punishing the innocent player. Also the NCAA is starting to hand down heavy fines. UT was hit with $8mil alone. This is only going to increase the amount of investigators and speed on enforcement. Schools like UT, FSU, Miami, TAM, UF and others are about to find out. Teams like Michigan who are on probation for other things better not be playing the pay for pay game or they will be considered a repeat offender. Will they be banned from post-season?? Probably not - CFP is technically not the NCAA so that is a little fuzzy. Other sports will probably get bans. Football - thinking massive fines, and scholarship reductions double and triple what we have seen in the past. Other measures as well. Coaching bans if they are found to be involved. Practice, recruiting limitations, booster disassociation. All this will come quicker than the football schools splitting from the NCAA and will come quicker than the athletes becoming employees - both of which likely happens by 2030 IMO. The timetable for NCAA penalties - already starting to see them. I bet 80% of the teams I mentioned will be on probation within a year - probably before next season starts. For some it will be the 2nd whammy and it’s going to be fun to watch them have to swallow it and also have to change their ways.

It's just weird to me. Schools in the same conference that are 2500 miles apart. 6 years of eligibility. Dudes playing for 3 and 4 schools. Drew Rosenhaus. Pretty easy to see Dabo's plan is to project stability in this cluster you know what. I was pretty aggravated about his lack of portal use but now I'm starting to think his plan might work.
