Brownell doesn’t pick up on his teams’ in-game deficiencies

The biggest complaint I’ve always had about Brownell is his in-game coaching moves or lack of them. Why does he allow his team to continue shooting 3’s, take 8 seconds off the shot clock, and give up an offensive rebound because we took a shot before we were positioned to get a rebound? We have big men, and we have guys who can push it inside…yet we try to shoot 3’s from the stratosphere and waste possessions. We see this in almost every loss. When he says we’re not as athletic or tough as other teams it drives me crazy. Who recuits and coaches the guys that are not as athletic or not as tough? Brownell does. Change your game plan, idiot! What about taking your time, moving the ball around, guage the defense, and take the best shot you can? Press inside and get fouled. Don’t start running with a team that wants to run when your team can’t run. It’s just so hard to watch when you see him making the same old mistakes despite him saying this was the most talented team he said he’s ever had. Well, if it’s not the talent, Brad, it must be the coaching, especially in a greatly weakened ACC year whwn your blue bloods are not performing.

Nailed it. Seems his substitution pattern is robotic and at times hurts momentum. If this is his be most talented team how do you lose to 4 very poor teams.
