Brian Kelly's seat will very hot next year

LSU sits at 5-2. However, they play Texas A&M, Bama, Arkansas, WKU, and Oklahoma. I can see them finishing 7-5.
If Riley manages to hang on this year at USC, his seat will be red hot next year.
This may sound crazy but another one that may be on the hot seat next year is Sark at Texas. He sits at 5-2 also. They should have lost to a terrible Kentucky team last Saturday. They've got Vandy, UGA and Texas A&M. They could also finish 7-5 or 8-4.
Point being, the craziness we are seeing this year will be perpetual until something changes.

Yep, chatter is picking up that he is coaching for his job.
With all this money on the table, universities will not show the kind of patience they showed in the past.

doesn't really need to leave Ole Miss just like Cignetti appears to be content at Indiana. All of these schools have money now, and you no longer need tradition and prestige to sell to recruits because you can just pay them.
Obviously some schools still have advantages over others, but there's not a gulf between the haves and have nots anymore - at least not in the two major conferences. Moving from Ole Miss to Florida or LSU isn't a big step up. I'm sure there are a few jobs Kiffin would leave for, but I'm skeptical he would leave for either of those.

Could easily see him leaving for Florida over LSU.
Say what you will but Florida gives coaches far more time than LSU. LSU has had solid seasons under Kelly. Napier was under .500 against P5 teams.
Honestly I don't see him leaving Ole Miss till the wheels start to fall off and the bama job opens up.
I think he wants to take Ole Miss to the playoffs or at least an SEC title game before dipping out.
The ballad of Kiffin has taken him to Oxford. He's even made amends with his ex wife and they're back together. He'll always sh!t talk with the best of them but he seems to be a better dude than what he used to be.
I can't fault a man who wants the quiet life and to be loved at a mid tier school over the pressure and being hated at a bigger school the moment you have a bad year.
We need more coaches at mid tier schools, Matt Campbell at Iowa State turned down the USC job because he didn't wanna raise his kids out in LA. (according to brock purdy anyways)

I think that is a valid point. If a school like IU can pony up the money that's close to what these other schools can offer, why jump to one of these other high profile pressure jobs?
You will likely get more grace at IU than Penn State and it's unlikley IU will have the resources for a huge buyout, if you do have a bad year or two.
On the other hand, I see a guy like Kiffin as craving the spotlight. Maybe his ambition has slowed as he's aged. Guess we will see.

PSU fires Franklin- UF fires Napier- etc…. Suddenly, there’s pressure at schools not to be late on the next coaching carousel and available names out there.
Suddenly LSU loses to TAMU, and pressure builds to fire Kelly now, b/c they know FSU is firing Norvell too, and don’t want to get left behind.
Right or wrong… that’s the perception.
Frankly, I’m shocked Norvell is still employed.

I saw an interview with Mark Cuban and supposedly he shelled out a good amount of money to Indiana. He wouldn’t say how much but it sounded like a lot. Cuban said Cignetti was the reason. I believe some of that went to cigs new contract. Also, A&M is u defeated. But I don’t think they are as good as their record. They should have lost to ND when their offensive lineman did the worst holding I have ever seen - that was not called. Seems like they have scraped by a few teams. Their offense is good. Their defense is not good.

That’s surprising given Elko is a defensive guy and they’re recruited well.

His daughter dates an LSU football player, but why go to that crime ridden cesspool. The campus is beautiful, but once off the campus, you better watch yourself

You are probably right. LSU is one of those who won't wait around.
It is going to be really interesting to see who lands where in the off season.

If he is still around we will help save his job again. Going to be a slaughter in Baton Rouge unless BIG changes happen.

Brent Venables and Oklahoma could be 6-5 heading into that game.

Media speculation was if another name coach was fired midseason it would be Kelly even at 5-2.
They haven't looked great and their barely beating us doesn't look so hot now.
