Again, we’ve got the 5th ranked roster nationally.
Portal may help, but it’s not 100% the main problem.

People have been giving stats of transfers all season long, you people just ignore it. They're almost all the top players at every position nationwide. But fair enough:
On offense
Oklahoma's QB is a transfer from UCF
2 of their top 4 rushers are transfers
Their #2 receiver is a transfer
Their top tight end is a transfer
On Defense
Their lead defensive back, one starting linebacker, and 2 second string backs are transfers.
4 of their 5 main defensive linemen are transfers
Seems like that's a bit of an impact.

I'm not ignoring it. The OP stated that Oklahoma brought in 17 transfers during the offseason. According to their depth chart, only four are starters. Of those, the only one I see with a significant impact is the receiver.

Happy for BV, but they barely hung on against Central Florida.
But a win is a win. There’s always a bit of luck associated with any great season. Unfortunately we have had none this year.

I think that a better argument would be that Georgia, the back to back National Champion, has 2 transfers starting for them. Talent-wise we are between the 2 but probably closer to Georgia. The fact that a team as talented as Georgia can find people in the portal to contribute, to me, says that we could as well.

trust me UGA loses a lot more in the portal than we gain. Both Bama and Texas’ best receiver left UGA through the portal.
the portal players we have now are wrs that contribute but are t as good as what we lost. n

Does anyone else not think it’s funny that Jeff Scott left and he used the portal?
That BC left and he uses the portal?
That Tony left and he uses the portal?
They’re telling you that you have to use it to compete no matter what type of situation you take over.
Georgia/Alabama/Ohio St ALL use the portal.
We can’t continue to lose 8-10 players to the portal and replace them with freshman. We will literally always be young and what’s happening right now will continue to happen.
Teams like WF/Duke that still actually redshirt and develop will never be as talented as us but their 20/21/22 year old grown men will outplay our 18/19 year old talent and it’ll be tight games but they’ll win in the end bc they have the experience and we don’t.
YOU HAVE TO USE THE PORTAL.
Plain and simple it has to be done by anybody and everybody that actually cares about winning. I DESPISE IT just like Dabo but I’m also a realist and I see literally everybody else using it except us.
It’s not a coincidence we’ve dropped off.
