Brad will have a ton of offers- does Neff match

I'm not being facicous. Only team to beat Kentucky, Duke, unc. Beat the state of NC. All from a school with little history... although I don't weight that strong. I'd say it's because he's done more with a lower rated jimmy and joes.

Imho, he won't leave Clemson if we come close to matching. Think it's kinda like Dabo. Money's money, but he's had unprecedented admin support.

That said, storied programs like unc, Indiana, maybe ND, but I don't know any other big potential jobs.

Coach K and Dean Smith shares the same distinction at their respective schools.

They also had 28 ACC championships and 7 national championships between them. They also had 80% winning records. Brad is a good coach, but it's a dumb comparison when his record is 60% wins and no championships.

I am sure a storied program does not have teash facilities and little financial support from the AD so there would only be a short wait to upgrade the roster

There is no proof that Brad's success would've been any better than it's been if he would've had all he wanted during his first years bc Clemson was the biggest program that he had ever been the HC at when he came to Clemson, and he is lucky that Clemson allowed him to stay long enough to gain the experience that he needed to have for coaching at a power 5 program. Brad actually got the experience he needed to coach at a power 5 program while working at Clemson, on the job training is what he got at Clemson. Clemson seems to have done that with a lot of our Head Coaches especially with Brownell and Dabo, some made it and some didn't!!!

Certainly Brad has gained experience but it’s not a coincidence our basketball fortunes greatly improved once LJ was rebuilt and Neff became AD. To believe that facilities, staff and NIL funding don’t matter is the most LF view I have seen lately.

at Clemson with all sorts of disadvantages. They fail to acknowledge that our football program didn’t become super successful until new facilities were built/announced and the AD gave him more money for better assistants.

Support matters a lot. In fact, it’s essential, even for legends like Dabo to be successful.

Honestly, I think that Dabo is a very intelligent individual and with his intelligence he could have been successful with anything that he loves doing as much as he loves coaching and being a mentor for young men because that is what makes him happy!!!

instant eligibility from transfers than anything else out there. He hasn't exactly killed it with development and retention of his HS classes in general over the years. By the time a transfer became eligible in the past, we would lose someone similar in our pipeline and pretty much stay stuck in neutral from season to season. With today's plug and play environment and instant availability, losing or missing on HS recruits doesn't carry the same negative impact, especially with such a small roster that basketball commands. The rules changing as they have really fell into Brad's wheelhouse and we are all the better for it.

I actually disagree. BB has taken full advantage of the portal/NIL. If they never changed transfer rules I think BB is fired by now. So I now look at Brad differently because he’s shown the ability to find quality talent in the portal and attract that talent to Clemson.

Neff has supported Brad with a good salary, raises, bonuses, and more money for better assistant coaches. I assume he will continue to do so.

Yeah, but I didn't know how patient they'd be. But you're right. I'm not up on all the big schools coaches on hot seat.

I kinda disagree with Indiana since he's from there. I agree unc probably wouldn't hire another conference team coach. Guess my point was two-fold, unc will fire Davis unless he pulls out a miracle.

2nd point, teams seem to love hiring th hot hand and he's hot as ever. Plus they're seeing what he has potential to do with resources and 3 star talent.

Thanks for replying. A lot of posters don't like what I say, and I'll admit I don't know bball like other sports. At least not since pick and roll was the buzz and 3 second lane violations and palming.

Brad likely worked harder in his first eight years given the resources he had available. His success of late, once properly supported, matches his level of compensation

Thank you 81. I appreciate your honest civil response. May be a coincidence, but it's been a remarkable turnaround since the assistants were hired. Neff's doing all the necessary steps. I disagree with facilities being a huge impact. Imo, it's the Jimmy and Joe's and veteran leaders.

I also agree with your assessment of the teams. Davis appears to have botched recruiting, and lost the locker room. As have all the unc programs.

I don't see Kentucky making a deep run. How they jumped 7 net points in beating scar I have no clue. In fact, I don't see how the coots still have a 90 net. And Carolina at 45 net coming in was a total joke.

As for Duke, it took all the breaks go our way to beat them. Missing Gillis and Flagg having the flu was a bit of good luck for us. But, that's bball. Thanks again.

He recruits. He works the portal. He wins. I promise you you will feel better. The Lunatic Fringe never disappoints. Now sickness and poor performance by the opponent is the reason Clemson is winning. Unbelievable.

I'm a Brad supporter and like him a lot personally, but to deny that this banner conference year is being done against a league that finished 2-14 in the ACC-SEC Challenge is just ignoring the facts. It is also a fact that we were one of the two wins and the fact that the vast majority of the conference is pathetic should not keep us from enjoying our success. Our first conference tournament title would sure be nice.
