or Clemson vs Iowa St in the Pop Tart Bowl (formerly Cheez=It) No Thanks -Seen that matchup just a few years back. Lose to the coots then it's probably Mayo vs. Minnesota. I'd pick Holiday of those 3.

Agreed. The ESPN haters on here will love that the Holiday is on FOX too.

No probably about it. They would. Travis Hunter and Shadeur Sanders are unanimous top 10 picks, with Travis Hunter as pretty much the unanimous top pick in the draft. Why would they risk injury to play? If both first strings were to play, it would be interesting, though I worry they would carve us up and Hunter would have a field day on both sides of the ball. But with all the opt-outs nowadays, it's just a glorified scrimmage to let fans see what they can expect next year. Hard pass.

I doubt they would opt out. Deion would want to try and make a point against an established P4 program. He'd probably convince Shedeur and Travis to play.

I appreciate your optimism, but (a) Deion has made it clear he cares most about Shadeur's career (even making the Colorado band not play so they can play his own hype song on Touchdowns). He wouldn't risk him getting hurt; (b) Deion gets hype just by existing. He doesn't need to beat a down Clemson to do that; and (c) I think Deion is heading out the door soon.

I agree with you in sentiment. I just think Deion's ego won't let him give this one away. I think he's to prideful to let the guys sit out. His wallet is enough to make them play.

Nobody even seems to be considering what our team would look like with opt outs as well. Why would Barrett Carter, Peter Woods, Phil Mafah, Jake Briningstool, and even potentially Tre Williams and Payton Page play in this game?
Our team would be substantially worse than the team that played Kentucky last year and that team was not very good.

Williams likely returns. There are no first round picks on your list apart from Woods

Yes, but with Woods injury issues this season, why would he risk a meaningless bowl?
If you were the coach, would you risk him in a meaningless bowl?

I agree with you. I don't think any of them would go in the first round. I don't even think any of them are second rounders. But you don't have to be a first round pick to opt out. If you're out of eligibility, the smarter decision is to opt-out so you don't get hurt, and then do well at the combine. Many of those players are out of eligibility. How Briningstool or Carter do against some random team in the Mayo Bowl isn't going to move the needle for them. So why risk it?

Who gives a #### any more? The Bowls are just pathetic participation awards at this point, where many of the players don't even participate. If you're not one of the 12 best teams, your season should just be over. Why would you even watch Clemson-Colorado? Shadeur Sanders and Travis Hunter would 100% opt out. Who cares if our team is better than Deion's second string?

True, that it is a novelty, but I would still enjoy it, even watching younger players getting experience for next season. It is true though that since the 4 team playoff came into existence, none of the non playoff bowls matter.

Exactly. It gives teams more practice time rather than sitting idle until Spring.

Cheeze It / Pop Tart bowl is one I make sure to watch every year.
The marketing and light heartedness around it is always hilarious.
I would love for that to be our post season scrimmage if we miss out of the CFP.
Participation trophy or not...it's more practice time for our young guns

Cheez-It is now the sponsor for the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Pop_Tart is the junior bowl (former named Cheez-It, Champs Sports and Tangerine Bowl etc.)

Is there a large Peperoni Pizza Bowl? I would be interested in that.

Papa Johns Bowl had a short run in Birmingham. I think the coots are familiar with that one.

If Colorado wins out they'll play BYU for the Big 12 title

They have 2 very winnable games left. @ Kansas and Okie State.
It's not safe to assume that they lose a game.
I agree if they don't make the playoffs that Shedeur and Hunter opt out.

I say/want this for several reasons:
1) I believe it will happen (or more likely than BYU taking it)
2) I’m here for the hype and circus
3) Had I not attended Clemson, I was going to Boulder (actually had already put down housing payment at Colorado before changing by commitment) - love Boulder. Loved Clemson just a wee bit more.
4) Number one reason is to listen to the gnashing of the teeth by many here on the TNet.
*** not a fan of the long term strategy of “build your team primarily through the portal” and I don’t know / can’t think of a true college football fan who would think the portal is the way of consistency. But would enjoy witnessing the bitching here. And isn’t that what it is all about ?
