For the purposes of this thread, bourbon also includes American "bourbon-like" whiskeys distilled in other states, and also rye whiskeys.
No specific topic today. What's been on your mind lately, bourbon-related?
So far this year, I have tried just two new bourbons. Penelope four grain bourbon, which I am not a fan of. In fact, I cannot even remember what specifically I didn't like.
The other is Barrel Bourbon Armida, which I am still evaluating. In fact, I'm going to have a pour in about 30 minutes.
Also, I am working on my list of bourbon to keep on-hand at all times. Here is what I have so far, but the list is still a work in progress and subject to change.
Old Forester 1920 Wild Turkey Rare Breed Chattanooga Cask 111 Penelope Toasted Old Granddad 114 George Remus/Remus Single Barrel Larceny Barrel Proof Uncle Nearest Premium Aged Uncle Nearest Rye

Got some Buffalo Trace for Christmas and have enjoyed it. In fact I'm about to partake.

It's aged a little longer than your typical bourbon, 6yrs if I recall instead of 2-3. It has good flavor and was smooth just drinking on ice. Its priced in that Makers price range and I would take Pendelton over Makers.

Add Woodford reserve double oak, Elijah Craig, Four Roses small batch and Bulleit to your everyday drink, could keep going, so many to enjoy, also try New Riff single barrel, forgot about that one.

I've tried all, but the New Riff single barrel. New Riff isn't sold in Virginia, but I have tried their straight bourbon bottled-in-bond.

@tigerfed. Four Roses small batch is a great one for the price. I like it better than the more expensive single barrel.

Blue Run Golden Rye has been my latest favorite. I’ve also been enjoying Chris Stapleton’s Traveler Whiskey by Buffalo Trace. Very approachable and affordable price point.

I have been there a lot. My favorite is Westvletern 12. I was stupid and bought a 6 pack to have delivered here. Those monks can make some real good beer.

If you can get Gulden Draak 9000 or Piraat, give them a try.

Tried the Chris Stapleton Traveller whiskey. It was okay. Tried Elijah Craig straight rye. Very good for the price. My local store got a shipment of Eagle Rare 10 year which has always been a favorite but this batch didn't taste as good. Good list.

Good to know about the Traveller. I've been waiting to hear something on it either way.
Will keep Elijah Craig straight rye in mind.
Hope the results are better with your next go at Eagle.

If you come across it, grab a bottle of Barrel Foundation. First Barrel non-cask strength offering at an attractive price point. Russell's Reserve Single Barrel is one I always have on hand as well.
