Both of Clemson's ex-generational QBs had games this past

week where they were off by mere milimeters. Trevor had several passes where he led the receiver just a shade too much to either make the catch, or make the catch and still stay in bounds.
Deshaun had several passes last night that were the same. The very first offensive play for the Browns, which resulted in the terrible tipped Pick Six, was one of those. Just off by the slightest of degrees, and in the NFL, that can spell doom for you.
Speaking on the Browns, ANY team overcoming two defensive touchdowns in the same game to win would be exceedingly rare. Add in the other turnovers, and it is a minor miracle they even had a chance to win on their last possession. And, it is obvious that Troy Aikman left any neutrality as an announcer home last night. He was constantly dissing Watson, and bringing up his previous suspension. Aikman's own track record with women isn't particularly stellar.
Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson both wish they could get a "do-over" on these two games, I would bet. Even with them being off, their teams had a chance to win. But, in both cases, as the game wore on, their offensive protection broke down more and more. Watson, especially, was running for his life late in the game.
The NFL, as has been said many times, is a whole nother animal compared to college. The plays are now substantially the same, but the speed and power of the players on the field is light years above what routinely shows up on college fields. Only the best of the best need apply, and even then, money may dictate whether or not you make it. It's a tough way to make a very nice living.

I much prefer to watch college games, but I'm always surprised at the players' speed every year around week 1 when you turn on the first (non-preseason) NFL game of the season on Thursday night or Sunday. Watch college football all day Saturday and then turn on the game Sunday and all the bodies just move so much quicker.

Chubb getting hurt changed the whole offensive game plan and left DW without a key piece of his offense. It allowed the defense to tee off on him without a legitimate running game and I think that was the difference in that game. He was pretty much running for his life after that.
