Why is it as soon as someone comes on here an puts a message up that doesn't fit into your Orange colored sunglass world, they are wrong? Everyone always wants them banned because the voice their opinions.... Everyone says enough is enough.... Well maybe to you, losing five in a row to the coots isn't enough but in the words the most everyone else uses.... enough is enough. People like us are tired of watching our team lost to them. I'm sorry if it offends you and you don't like it. If you don't want to read it then don't click on the message or just keep your opinion to yourself. We have to come on here an read your messages about how everything is ok and that losing to them isn't a big deal and that at least we made a BCS game and all the kind of BS. It's fans like you who are the problem. Not fans like us who are fed up with the crap.

Don't know if this is the right thread to post this but here goes. For the past three years we have lost to Shaw and D. Thompson because we can't stop the QB draw/run. Why? We know what they are going to do, it happens every year. This year we stopped them cold. Even with the six (gulp)turnovers, we could have won the game if we contained Shaw. What is with this, will B Miller run wild because we can't seem to scheme an athletic QB? What's up with this?

He's going to run into a tough schedule one of these years and go 7-6, and if the Coot losing streak is still alive, he's a goner.
Or, USC can start sucking and he can start beating them to save his hide, a la Tommy Bowden
Neither outcome sounds terribly appealing to me.
Or we can win 'em all. That might happen if DW turns out to be the real deal. In that case we need only recruit o-line, receivers and defense.
I don't see any way out of him being our coach for the next 10-15 years. Could be worse I guess, he's a nice guy.
And this is what we're stuck with.

This guy gets it, it is all of the satisfied people in our fan base. If we don't strive every year to be 13-0 then we have failed our mission. We should want to win every game no matter what and if you think its ok to lose to your two biggest rivals like we did then there are minor issues you should take care of yourself. However, we shouldn't fire or clean house. There is no ridiculous cure to our good season. We shouldn't hold our head down and we shouldn't stick out or chest and be satisfied. Come on now its all common sense. BE proud and support our team but when its time to stick your foot in somebody's @$$ then stick it up there. Its a nasty game and a nasty nature of the beast. We should never be satisfied going 0-2 against top rivals. Screw all this we should be complacent with losing to our rivals.
Sincerely happy but frustrated loyal Clemson fan who is an enrolled studenT******,

So I'm curious
Dec 18, 2013, 2:37 PM
|
|
If you were the AD, what would be your plan? In the last three seasons we've won at least 10 games and an ACC championship. Now that's not bad, but according to you, it's not good enough.
So would you clean house because we haven't beaten the school of Columbia? Would you fire coordinators or just Dabo? If you fire the staff, how would recruiting turn out for next season? I assume it would take a hit, wouldn't that hurt us in future games against USuCk? Who would you plan to hire (and please don't give names like Cowher, Gruden, Saban, Ford, etc, only logical choices please)?
Please weigh in, I'd love to see your thoughts on how to fix our "mediocrity" as you see it.

that losing to them is not acceptable. If you really look at the ten wins, it's not that impressive. We beat up on Wake Forest, Syracuse, UVA and etc.... Not very good.
I would attempt to fix the problem by letting Dabo know that something is going to have to change or he will be finding another job. Put some pressure on him because he feels like as long as we win 10-11 games we are ok. That is his cushion as he has pretty much stated in interviews. Put him on the hotseat... that's the only thing to do. Have to let the man know that losing to them is not an option. Dabo has changed the culture, he's changed the culture with tiger fans now being ok with losing to them but winning 10-11 games a year will soothe it all. I will not stand by and be one of those people.

That's convenient. That's why people call you a Coot.
Make no mistake, UGA, when healthy, when we beat them, are a national championship caliber team. As was LSU last year.
Fact is, winning 10 games one year is a big deal--it's part of the reason CTB was let go. Winning 10+ 3-years in a row is a huge deal. Going to a BCS game 2 times in 3 years is a HUGE deal.
No one is happy about losing to the Coots. Most of just have some perspective about it.

If you can discount every win, then there is nothing that can ever be done, short of winning the MNC every year, that will be good enough.
If you can look at the UGA game and say "Eh, they weren't that good", and then look at the LSU game and claim it as all luck then you are either trolling (which your post style and frequency seems to support) or simply never going to be pleased.

We lost to an undefeated unanimous #1 FSU who is 13-0 and a #8 South Carolina who is 10-2 and a great team.
2012 we lost to a #4 FSU who finished the season 12-2 and was dominant. And we lost to #12 SC who finished the season 11-2...
You're a broken record, just STFU.

And a ranked FSU, and VTx2 when they were rolling over everyone.
I don't know why everyone can't just admit that things have kind of been like a rollercoaster with Dabo. We have had some really awesome wins over the last 3 years. We have 3 ten win seasons in a row, have won the ACC, and are making our second BCS appearance in 3 years. On the other hand, we have lost to SCAR 5 times, suffered the worst BCS loss in BCS history, and been handed our worst home loss in school history. We're not going to win every game, but as soon as we get more consistent against elite teams, we will ourselves be an elite program. We are currently just outside the realm of elite. I don't think any changes need to be made staff wise, we just have to get more consistent against the better competition we face.

I agree with you mostly. When I said rollercoaster, I really meant the super highs we get with some of the awesome wins we have had, and the terrible lows we have felt when we just get inexplicably blown out (FSU this year, WVU Orange Bowl) or show up looking unprepared (SCARx5).
The days of losing to teams we have no business losing to appear to be long gone. We no longer play down to competition, but we do seem to let games against big time opponents snowball on us if we get behind early sometimes. Get more consistent against the better teams on our schedule, and we will be elite.

a momentum swing occurs that is equivalent to a TKO.
The Orange Bowl 99yd fumble return followed up by the interception sealed that game.
The huge KO return in 2012 FSU sealed that game.
2012 SCar we were just outplayed physically.
2013 FSU first play fumbled followed by Tajh's fumble score sealed the game in the 1st quarter.
2013 SCar we managed to keep fighting despite the turnovers, but it was either Tajh's fumble or the second punt muff that sealed that game.
I don't know how you would even coach that either, I think it goes on the individual himself. I also think it is the one flaw of Tajh is he doesn't let mistakes go and it weighs on him in a game.

He usually does well in the first drive and then he just refuses to throw the ball once the defense adjusts to take away our primary target. He is not good at making the second or gasp, third read. He waits, waits, waits, for the primary, and then usually runs into a sack. He would rather throw it to a triple teams Watkins down the hash marks than to a 1 on 1 coverage Bryant down the sideline. I just don't get it.

scouts have said that exact thing to David Hood in the press box that Boyd's decision making need a lot of work. I firmly believe he will improve on that, but unfortunately we're out of time. Tajh comes from a good area in Virginia, is a very intelligent guy, and will succeed I believe.

Good post. People want to bash, but what is the real solution? If we had beaten the coots even 2 times in the last 5 years everyone would be good. The only logical thing to do is keep our current system in place and see what happens. If we they win 6 or 7... Then let's hire a new coach. But seriously, the best plan right now is to put on our big boy pants and ride this one out. Things will change, their recruiting has not been stellar and Slurrier is getting old.

one post where someone said they were satisfied with losing 5 in a row to the coots and it is not a big deal. I think every one is fed up with losing to them. As much as I hate the coots and beating them makes my season, I do have enough sense to realize that one game does not make the season. Your agenda is to belittle everything Clemson. You never have anything good to say.
And in your own words..If you don't want to read it then don't click on the message or just keep your opinion to yourself.

Go back to the xbox where you can play 40 seasons in a row and win every game by 200 points, that will suit you better.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself little sister.

If your going to stand up for something make sure it something that matters. If you've decided to stand firm on your convictions then stand like a man, find resolve and affix it firmly in you heart then prepare yourself for battle.
Take the battle to the enemy without reservations and crush him with your will. Battle results in wounds and wounds results in scars. A man doesn't whine about his battle scars he wears them as a medal of honor.
Clearly you want Dabo fired because of the losses to scar. You picked the battle and chose the battleground. You've found your adversaries have greater number and their dedication to defending their position is immutable. You've also found the sting from the darts you are using for ammo only angers your opposers and stiffens their resolve.
ON LIES AND STRAWMAN ARGUMENTS
1. Who wants you banned?
2. Who exactly said losing to the coots five times in a row isn't a big deal?
3. If no one said losing to the coots five times in a row is OK then exactly who are you impeaching?
4. If there is no one to impeach then who is the problem?
5. Answer to question #4: YOU!
6. Are you really proposing we fire the coach and refuse the BCS Bowl? That's how it sounds.
