Bobby Bowden Story

I heard a funny Bobby Bowden story. During a sideline chat with reporters after practice one day, a reporter commented on one particularly energetic receiver who loved to go across the middle in traffic. The reporter said, “that kid is so tough he can’t even spell fear.” Coach Bowden replied, “heck, I’ve seen his grades, there are a lot of words he can’t spell. I don’t know if the story is true but it sure is funny.

Bobby had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Many times he was too quick for the media and they missed his dry humor.
