DW downfall started his junior year with the cam newton friendship

Does anyone remember Watsons first 3 games his jr year? he played so bad Dabo had to have a private meeting with him to get him going, it wasn't only that he was playing bad but he looked completely disinterested in playing.
It was very strange considering he was the talk of the college football world after he single handedly smashed Bama's defense in a loss 2015 (should have won) even Nick Saban said he was the best college qb he ever had to play.

I kind of trace the beginning of his troubles back to his friendship with Cam Newton, they are both from the same general area near atlanta, but after Newton won the heisman and championship his last year at Auburn, then went on to the panthers, i think Watson and Cam hit it off at some point after Clemsons loss to Bama, perhaps because of the closeness of panthers trainingcamp in spartanburg I don't really know, all i know is they started hanging out alot then Watson started the next season disinterested.

I can only speculate but who knows what they talked about, perhaps Clowney down the road who was the first to make waves with the sit out thing, perhaps Newton said something to the affect of " dont get hurt just get through the year, your the no.1 pick" type of message.

I remember a similar thing with Newton that most may have forgotten, in 2010 when Auburn won the championship, Newton had an amazing year, slipped by Clemson in overtime first game by a missed FG then Auburn went on an epic run and beat Bama 28-27 in the iron bowl thriller, blasted south carolina 56-17 in the SEC cham[ionship game, won the heisman........but then essentially shut it down......does anyone remember how terrible he played in the championship game against oregon? his offensive cord screaming at him the whole game Gus Malzan, they got very lucky to win by oregons defense giving up thought the ball runner was down and kicked a fg to end it, i believe oregon would have won in overtime.

Anyway i'm saying all this not to blame Cam Newton for another mans problems, but just tracing back the origins of the beginning point in my opinion to Watsons fall from grace, he was very nice young man at Clemson had most fooled, not sure if it was fake or not, he paid the salaries of all the Houston Texans workers during covid. In my opinion Watson became a Jeckyl and Hyde, i could go further into it but this is long enough for now.
