If Oregon wins out, they'll overtake FSU and play Bama

Oct 21, 2013, 9:34 AM

At least that's what I'm hearing from some NCAAF writers.

FSU's strength of schedule will kill them, and that hasn't yet been fully accounted for in the BCS rankings.

So good job FSU on scheduling Bethune-Cookman and Idaho.

It's very unlikely that all of Oregon, FSU, and Alabama all

go undefeated.

And Alabama has Colorado State, Georgia State, and Chattanooga on their schedule. Scheduling pansies is the way to get highly ranked in this day and age. The "tiebreaker" isn't actually Strength of Schedule, but rather a perceived strength of conference. FSU's problem is that the media believes SEC > PAC 12 > ACC.

Oregon plays no one.

I disagree with that...Stanford and UCLA are both good teams

Oct 21, 2013, 9:47 AM

I don't think the rest of the PAC 12 is as good as ESPN wants us to believe though.

Florida St. will have better wins IMO. UCLA and Stanford both have losses. Miami is undefeated. FSU could potentially have beaten 3 top 20 teams, 1 being a top 10 maybe 2. Oregon will only have beaten 2 top 15 teams if it plays out like I think it will..

And hell I'm not even counting Florida. They could be top 25 as well.

If FSU goes 13-0 humans will make sure FSU plays BAMA

Oct 21, 2013, 9:46 AM

That would be a pipe dream for ESPN.

fsu has to beat florida to win out and they're sec

Oct 21, 2013, 9:48 AM

take that oregon

badge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Florida sucking will hurt FSU

Oct 21, 2013, 9:48 AM

The gators could hsve 5 losses by the time they play FSU.

Oregon has their toughest games ahead of them. UCLA,Stanford,Oregon State. They will jump FSU

Bingo.

Oct 21, 2013, 9:50 AM

At this point, Florida is no better than Maryland in term of strength of schedule.

Are you forgetting about the canes, they are now ranked. That could help.

Miami is #7 and they have that game 11/2. Plus, they'll

have either a 1 loss U or VT probably in the ACCCG. All Oregon has of consequence is Stanford really plus a PACCG if they win that game

Oregon and FSU will overtake Alabama and their weak

schedule.

No way...Bama will not move from #1 in the human polls

Oct 21, 2013, 10:11 AM

Unless they lose. The human polls are 2/3 of it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The main reason is that Bama-Oregon will stay 1-2

Oct 21, 2013, 10:13 AM

In the human polls. Even if FSU edges them in the computers, that will be difficult to overcome. FSU has a relatively big edge in the computers this week over Oregon, and still barely edges them in the overall standings.
