Bill Maher is an old school liberal - not a leftist

I truly hope what remains of his wing of the Democratic Party can wrest control back from the rabid radical left and bring them back to a center left party.
I greatly disagree with most of Maher's and the old school liberal's policy positions but I never doubted their love of country or their commitment to the Constitution.
I cannot say the same for the radical left who has controlled the Democratic Party for the last 10+ years.

see a similar movement on the right. The current movement towards the far right is largely a reaction to the Democrats having taken a decided shift towards the far left.
Pew has done some polling and research on this and I think this 2021 blog post is a pretty good analysis from a liberal dude who used to write for Mother Jones:

I’ll take a look later today…but did see the bit Maher did. He’s been saying this and similar for a while…
As for the Republican Party…in many ways, I think it may be much harder to ever find that center right again. I’m not hopeful they can put the Far Right/Evangelicals back in the bottle. I blame Reagan for cracking the door and Trump for giving them too much influence. Frankly, it’s what has pushed me out over the past 20+ years.

and I appreciate how he brought up the impact of the Joe Rogan Interview last week. Possibly make new rules about how to fight back, or the compact this election will have on the stability of our Republic.. instead of pointing the finger and calling the Dems losers, who at least maintained some semblance of integrity in this election.

Funny to watch the leftist kooks whine about the far right when a lifelong Democrat was just elected who has selected multiple lifelong democrats to be in important positions within his government. It's almost like they are so gullible and uninformed they wouldn't know a real far right leader/government if they saw one.

Dems turned school and colleges into a joke – agree. White progressives are certified nuts – agree. Entire Dem party has become a Portlandia sketch – agree. Democrats campaign like no Democrats live here – agree. Democrats are like an incestuous family who had retarded kids – agree What Congressman Tom Moulton said about his two girls was totally okay – agree Dems anti-common sense agenda and exclusionary attitude is what lost the election – agree.

All that then the talks about his biggest concerns being: 1) Threat to democracy - myth invented by sh**libs 2) Climate change - myth invented by sh**libs.
Try harder Bill.

Do you still think the real Biden is dead and that there is a lookalike in office now?
