Big Recruiting Update

Today 247 released their new rankings for the class of 23' so I thought I would let you know some of Clemson's early targets and where they stand. (Numbers before players are their 247 rankings)
Obviously a lot can change but here are where things stand now...
#1-Lebbeus Overton, a SDE out of Georgia. Clemson is top 4 and I would venture to say that they may even hold a small lead. His father was an administrator as Alabama and the family lived there for a while, so they are most likely going to be the toughest competition, with Georgia, but really like where Clemson is. He has been to Clemson and loved it.
#2-Peter Woods, a DE or DT out of Alabama. Alabama leads but says that he wants to visit Clemson and Florida for sure in the Fall. Good signs.
#4-Francis Mauigoa, an OT out of Florida. I know that Clemson has talked with him but I would not say that they are one of the top teams at the moment. Will have to see if they ramp up communication.
#5-Arch Manning, QB out of Louisiana. Clemson is most likely in his top 4 with Bama, LSU, and Texas. I see him trying to end his recruitment earlier if he can once he takes official visits. He did name Clemson as a place that he wants to camp this Summer.
#6- Malachi Nelson, QB out of California, OU leads right now, but Clemson is there with FSU and USC behind OU.
#8-Caleb Downs, S out of GA. Clemson is at least in his top 3 and I think that they may hold a lead without even offering, he has said that he grew up rooting for Clemson.
#10-Brandon Inniss, WR out of Florida. He mentioned Clemson along with all the other big boys at teams that are recruitment him hard. This one will be tough.
#12-Makai Lemon, CB/WR out of California. Is a teammate of Nelson and the two plan on playing together in college, has been to Clemson before and has the same top teams as Nelson.
#14-Tony Mitchell, CB out Alabama. Grew up in Florida and has no ties to Alabama, Clemson is right there he told Letterman Row "“I’m originally from Florida and I don’t have a favorite college football team, really,” Mitchell said. “But Clemson is my dream school, so I’d say them if I had to pick a favorite team or someone that I rooted for. I just always liked them since they had Deshaun Watson, Mike Williams, Deandre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins. They’ve been showing me major love since my freshman year. It’s just different up there.”. Bama leads but this one will probably go the distance and Clemson will be right there.
#15 Matayo Uiagalelei, a SDE/TE. He made a huge jump in the rankings and is obviously familiar with Clemson. He wants to be a music producer and I really would not be surprised to see him go somewhere else to play, Clemson will be there, but he may try to make his own way.

There are more names but I am going to cut the list there and make a separate post some time next week detailing the really talented class that the Carolinas has, specifically at WR, that Clemson will try to recruit.
