Big 12 talk is nonsense.

Big 12 talk never dies, because there is a segment of the Big 12 fanbase that is constantly spreading rumors.

A bunch of wannabe Big 12 social media people in their mama's basements looking for clicks makes you nervous?

It's never made me nervous bc I can't ever see that happening, and I won't ever believe it until I see Big 12 painted on our FB field and in the basketball arena...

The conference we'll most likely end up in, will be the conference that says the loudest that they're not interest in Clemson, and that's where we'll end up at!!!

Not but a few people (commissioners namely) have any idea what will happen. Lot of things happened in the last 3 years that I still can’t believe, so I never say never about anything on these conference deals.
It’s all about money and if the BigXII somehow, not very likely, came up with the most to pay out per team then I’m guessing that’s where we would end up. Geography as we all now know means nothing.

Big 12 payout is less than ACC payout.

No way in #### Clemson is moving to the Big 12 and taking the same or less money.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Its total BS. The ACC makes more now and will

continue to make more than B12. So even if the B12 offered uneven distribution, it would never be enough to cover whatever settlement amount is eventually agreed to for exit. + no rivalry games, worse schedule IMO than what we have with the ACC. It’s B10/SEC or a new conference that cuts the deadweight and picks up some higher B12 teams and possible someone else that is unhappy the next time conference contracts come up. It’s manufactured dribble by B12 admin/media/fans. And some of the Clemson wannabe websites are using it for clickbait.

I've never seen more of a "pick me" group than Big 12 fans. They either ignore the fact that their league has such viability issues that they are trying to sell % stakes in the conference for PE, and become the Allstate 12 for an additional $2-4 Mil a year, or they think its the most innovative maneuver ever attempted. It's a poverty conference with no marquee schools, and we and FSU would end up having to carry everyone once again.

They just want to claim they got TX and OU level brands back in the fold. That might have made sense before they added a boatload of G5 schools and the lesser PAC12 brands. Only some amazing private equity fueled rental program could ever deliver the annual payout that FSU and Clemson can command based on brand awareness and viewership numbers. This chatter is just FSU and Clemson completing the due diligence process.

The new rumor is some Arizona 247 writer claiming the Big 12 has "internal belief" that Clemson and FSU are coming. I think it's safe to say journalism has died and it's now, officially, journalisming. I even had a TCU fan argue with me that the Big 12 was better than the ACC because Kansas and Baylor won Natty's in basketball and they made the CFP Championship. When I asked why his OC thought the ACC was a better choice, and pointed out the ACC has won 2 football natties, and 3 bball natties in the last decade, he didn't have much of an answer. I'm not a fan of the ACC, but the Big 12 is objectively a downgrade.

I have never seen as many delusional liars as those Big 12 folks in all my life, They make up stuff daily. Guess that is what happens when you have only been around since 1994 and most of your original members have left.
