If Texas A&M couldn't keep Texas out of the SEC, the coots won't matter in this case. The SEC gets what it wants.

They don't. State gov't will NOT let one public university inhibit another public university. Taxpayers will NEVER allow that to happen. This is not the landscape of even ten years ago...so those 'rules' are gone.

I’m sick of hearing about the SEC! I hate being in the ACC, mostly Because I hate the N. Carolina schools, especially UNC. However, I don’t want to play an SEC schedule and I don’t want road games clear across the country. Any other options?

Clemson and the university of SC will be in the same conference. Different divisions within that new conference, but in the same conference.
It's coming sooner than most imagined.

No offense meant by this GT5 as this is a fairly common opinion to hear, but that is the most ridiculous take out there. Of course the coots will not want us in because of the money advantage they currently have there vs what we get from the ACC. But that will not prevent the SEC from greatly strengthening their brand with our addition. Same goes for FSU/Florida. We bring Greta value and that is what it is all about. Coots have no say.

Academic standings of schools will need to be at a set minimum, but as far as shaping the future world of college sports on tv, academics are hardly a factor.

I agree academics dont have much to do with revenue growth in college football.
But the bigten seesm to be able to generate revenue with mediocre football purely based on the massive volume of alumni they have. The bigten schools are much bigger (on average) than other conferences. More students, more alumni, more advertising eyeballs, more revenue.
Gotta move to a nationwide college football league.

I would not want to move at all; I agree with that thought. I understand however; "it's inevitable"! With that said, if those were the only options, the Big 12 wouldn't be a bad choice!
Followed by the Big 10- because of the revenue sharing.
The SEC would be last resort; in my world(I understand it's not a my world choice).
The travel to Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas Iowa, W. Virginia, Florida seems more appealing to me than Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, etc.
It's freaking cold up there; by a large margin. The Big 10 schools fans often point to the fact championship games are played in "Warm Climates" which lends itself more to the Southern based teams. If that is so, "does it not also cause a disadvantage for a school coming from a warmer enviornment then going to play outside in Minnesota in November"?
The Big 12 would not be perfect; and the revenue sharing may not be much better! But, to me, it's the better option.
The SEC is already so top heavy!
The good thing about going SEC would be you could potentially have multiple losses and still have an opportunity to be National Champion! The only appeal it would have i.m.o.

national titles in football. The other sports at Clemson have every possibility to be successful as well.
Up and playing in the mid-west or upper mid-west consistently has no appeal to me, and I'd bet recruits would be less interested in that as well. And while I don't think the SEC needs or wants Clemson (and I don't think the B10 does either, but the B12 is desperate) if it did happen I think Clemson would just get lumped in with all the upper echelon athletic schools there, and probably wouldn't continue the overall brand it has.

This isnt your daddy's college football landscape. Money (tv contracts, NIL, portal) has changed everything. Youre not going to compete long term when you make minimum wage compared to the other conferences.

I had rather go to the Big 12 and play Oklahoma St, Baylor, WVU, TCU, TT, BYU than end up in the B1G playing teams like Rutgers and Maryland (again). Yawn!

SEC is first choice but B1G would be fine except the map would be crazy.
BigXII would be disappointing as I think it will be the new ACC once this is all said and done with all of the G5 schools they just added.

Big 12 would not be that bad as long as FSU, Miami and GT go with us. It would be more long playing in a southern conference along with the Texas schools and Ok. St. than the B1G.

On another note, I wondered what it would be like if all conferences were abolished and started from scratch and there was a draft. What order would the schools be selected in? Who would be first? Second? Tenth? What would the first 25 look like?

I am sure you have your reasons, but there is a reason the BIG 12 is safe in all the realignment. No one wants their schools. They are all just mediocre teams with medium sized to minuscule followings. TCU and Baylor are Wake Forest and BC with a few good seasons. Ohio State played at Jerry World in 2018 and it was like 75% Buckeye fans. And TCU was like 15 miles from there. I live in San Antonio and I hardly Ever see anyone wearing Baylor or TCU clothing. I also think the Big 12 schools were made more important by Oklahoma and Texas. Those 2 being in the conference raised the interest for all the teams. With Texas and Ok gone, there just isnt much left. No excitement. Just my opinion.

I believe we have the opportunity to keep football and all college sports successful and thriving on the east coast without having to resort to taking our show and fans so far on the road. A creative solution to football divisions within the ACC that rewards those more vested programs such as us is out there, and that's definitely my preference over any other scenario.

It will take a while to get there, probably a few iterations between now and then, but eventually the massive money to be generated by a national college football league will lead the sport to a NFL style nationwide league. The media buyers (ESPN, FOX, maybe Apple or others) control this. They will eventually be sure this gets structured to generate many times more revenue than college football currently does.
