We had a written email and text agreement with Mike Mathews @laysman33@mindspring.com to buy 4 tickets and a parking pass from him for the Louisville game.
We agreed together that we would give him cash and get the tickets on Tuesday when we returned from A&M. We contacted him today to set up the meeting and he said Oops sorry, sold them already! That is not the way Tigers should treat each other. I would highly recommend avoiding any transactions with him. He can not be trusted.

That's too bad. Hope you are able to find a good deal on some tickets. I've found that the most dependable sellers use PayPal or VENMO to do transactions.

It was a few years back, but I had a similar situation with Mike where he reneged on buying tickets from me. I was stuck holding tickets. He lived in Anderson. Beware.

You made a commitment to meet me at a public place and buy tickets on the day of the game. You didn’t show up, nor did your bother to call and cancel. You also would not answer your phone when I called to find out if there was a problem. You are more like a cheetah than a tiger.

Happened to me last year when selling a parking pass to another “tiger”. Got left with the unused pass at the last moment. Most on here told me to essentially suck it up. Several people said it was my fault because I should have kept trying to sell it even though I had promised it to someone else. Disageee. Tigers should keep their word. Sorry I’m old school.

I'm the same way, once I have an agreement with someone to buy/sell, I follow through... I've already had 2 people back out this year leaving me set, but I won't change the way I handle business.

I have a fair amount of experience with online sales agreements between strangers ( none related to sports) and in my world nothing puts a hold on items except money. I can promise that there are many sellers left holding the bag, so to speak, when promises of paying in the future are empty. Best to use a verified middleman site or hold items with $ through PayPal.

Hey Dave,
As I told you earlier today, I was sorry for the mistake! I forgot to take down the add and the next day someone inquired about it. My first response to all inquiries are “Yes they are available, you can pay through PayPal and I will ship them or you can pick them up and pay cash”. The buyer the next day paid immediately through PayPal and I shipped them. I did not even think about your email until today, when you texted to find out when was a good time to meet up. Again, I am sorry for the mistake! In the future when people ask, “can they pay next week?”, my response will be that I can not hold tickets for future pickup. I learned a lesson from this today and hope you did as well!

Was this “public place” a closed rest area or something - near the GA line - and somebody dressing like Lil Bo Peep so they will be identifiable, by chance ???

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
I have an ad on TigerNet and Craigslist to sell a Jervey Meadows parking pass for the Duke game. Received an email from Bronnon Alexis asking if I still had the pass. I responded I did and received the following:
“Thanks for getting back to me, would you accept a certified cashier check as payment then after it clears my mover will come for the pick up. “
Uhh, I don’t think so Tim! Classic Scam. Check will bounce AFTER several days and you are out the $ AND the pass!
Told him I’d take PayPal and crickets since then.
I know what Caveat Emptor means but what’s the Latin for seller beware?
