It may be that the NCAA is smart enough to know that if "tampering" is challenged in court - "tampering" will win (because they can't prevent a kid from making MORE money from his NIL).

Well the prosecution could use the definition of NIL, seeing that’s not what is currently going on. NIL is fine but this current free agency market was not the intention imo. I believe they, conference commissioners, NCAA or whomever ends up running the show, tightens things up. We will see. As of right now this is going down the path most on here thought it would.
Not but a few schools abusing it I would think, and I’m talking the big money. Figure most everyone has somebody that can pay but a few schools have more resources.

Nothing will be done to ND. They are one of the teams the NCAA will not touch. Southern Cal, Michigan, Ohio St., and all SEC teams are other teams in this protected group.

Every coach I've seen interviewed that is asked about the portal has made negative comments on how it is being run - from the portal open season dates, to the no consequence transfer rules, to how it is negatively impacting the students themselves. Most also talk about outside tampering and how it is getting worse.
The NCAA knows what is going on between the portal, NIL, and "tampering" and show zero interest in doing anything about it. I think we are at a point that the NCAA is content to be a money vacuum that is happy to let Rome burn so long as their employees get paid handsomely for pretending to run college athletics - particularly the upper level folks.
