Can we self regulate or do we need TNET to intervene?
Natural discourse should be encouraged, right? There are trolls but regular posters should be able to question a bad play call, for example, without a huge division.
Am I right? If so, what do we do?

When you lose power for 4 days, see trees down and people's houses and cars damaged and see the devastation in western North Carolina and east Tennessee that killed a lot of people, destroyed towns, and will take a long time to recover from, things like sporting events and traffic issues don't seem to be quite as important. We should all keep that post hurricane love and concern for others.

IMO When we are playing poorly and behind like in the 1st Qtr yesterday it just shows who cares. It's the ones that take it so lightly I question. Everyone reacts differently. The "I'm a better fan than you" types on here need to get over it.

Cheer, jeer, cuss, whatever. But be more selective in how and where that happens. People are free to say whatever they like, but don't expect not to receive pushback when you constantly post childish overreactions

You don’t understand discourse do you? That’s when people with wildly different opinions intelligently and courteously discuss the difference in opinion. All of human learning is based on this premise. He’s talking about personal attacks on people for having a different opinion. There’s no space for that anywhere or anytime.
Here’s a prime example: 1989 Ken Hatfield takes over for Danny Ford who built a roster that was poised to win a national championship. Hatfield backed into a 10-2 campaign while blind cheerleaders loved him. I started a booster movement to fire him. I was called many crazy names and my love for Clemson was questioned. It took everyone another season to see what I saw. I wasn’t the first. I was one of he loudest. My initially unpopular opinion soon spread to most boosters. They began to make noise and withhold donations and the AD listened finally.
Free speech means you can say anything about anything as long as it isn’t hate speech. Fan (short for fanatic) boards are a prime example of that. If everyone was a blind cheerleader we’d still have Hatfield or Bowden as a coach. Thank God some people are smart enough to point out issues they perceive or we’d be stuck in mediocrity. Whether it’s wrong or right, they have a right to post their feelings. What people don’t have a right to do is attack someone’s intelligence or character just because they feel differently. If everyone believed and agreed on everything we wouldn’t need a board for discussion. It would also be a VERY boring world.
It’s a crying shame we are having to have this conversation at all. We’re representing Clemson University and should conduct ourselves as gentlemen and ladies at all times. We can disagree all day long but at the end of the day we are all still Clemson family.

Since when is anyone's job safe? The defense has been slipping. Wake went toe-to-toe with our offense yard production-wise for the first half.
I see the narrative but didn't post "FIRE WES." I stated that a change in a proven OC improved our offense. Could it do the same for the defense that has been declining?
That's a far different from posting, "WES SUCKS, FIRE HIM!" But you know that.

Personally thought the fire the DC was a BS post from someone that has not watched or played football and is not a fan of good D! I am not sure that I would trade WG for any other DC including BV...our D is not perfect but we adjust well, we survive well with star injuries and he brings new folks along...recruits well..what do you want?

I agree. Discourse is dying. Most one here are commended sense folks and can disagree like gentlemen. We do have some that resort to personal attacks and that cannot stand. We can police the threads somewhat ourselves by flagging those that are the worst offenders. I’m not afraid to point out that personal attacks and name calling aren’t the way and flag their post.

I'm a fan of free speech rules. The mods do a pretty good job of the really egregious stuff...obsessive personal attacks, illegal stuff, sicko stuff, etc.
Otherwise, they seem to go with the 1st Amendment.
