Beasley Next Von Miller ?

Oct 10, 2016, 2:13 AM

This is a synopsis of 4 different articles I read, and my thought afterwards.

Some are already saying " Whoa, He had a great game , but can he keep it up?"
So, I figured I would show some respect that was earned today in Atlanta, and remember when He was a dominant defense pass rush force in his Junior and Senior Years at Clemson. He set the tone for Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd, and many others who are now playing outstanding D at Clemson this year. Credit to Venables, He is the coaching machine with intensity and love for his players. Credit to Beasley for starting and setting an example of the pass rush under Venables. Beasley broke school records in defensive categories while at Clemson.

I think the answer is yes to question of " can he keep it up?". Maybe not Von Miller Stats, but climbing- no doubt climbing. His impressive 3.5 sacks against the defense that was instrumental in winning the super bowl.Miller had his moments in the game, He's is after all, Von Miller. However, I believe that Beasley wanted to make a statement today to all of the Falcon fans that he was not a " first round bust " as some of the media was beginning to say. Today He silenced those critics.

Beasley had to take a year and play through all of the games and learn the schemes that others play. I mean, can you give a rookie a year these days? He obviously showed up today and will continue to be an impact player into the season. He's grown, matured, and learned the system.

I think He's a little tired of hearing about Miller and the others, and wanted to show off some of the skills from the Venables days at Clemson. Beasley was dominant at Clemson and dominant today for the Falcons, the story is about him today, as well documented in Atlanta Newspapers already.

One reporter stated that "if Atlanta continues to play like this on both sides of the ball, they are a super bowl caliber team". It was supposed to be a day about Paxton Lynch's first round draft choice by John Elway, or About Matt Ryan having another big game with Julio Jones. Instead is was a record High Day for Beasley, surpassing his rookie total from last year and games away from the middle of this year's season. He showed His Team today what He is made of, and proved why he scored highly at the combine day, enough to be chosen in the first round of 2015 NFL Draft as First Pick to Falcons. A Tiger Nation Salute to you Vic Beasley on a great game, with many more to come. Keep after em' Vick- " The Beast" Beasley.

A Tech,
I believe that Vic Beasley has a solid 9 to 10 sacks this year possibly more. The only thing that I would say is to temper expectations. The one main reason I would say that is that is because the one thing that makes Von Miller, Von Miller, is the fact that the Broncos have another Pro Bowl DE DeMarcus Ware and a budding star in Shane Ray on the opposite side of the ball. That means the opposing offense has to game plan for both leaving one to pillage. Atlanta does not offer any additional pass rush besides Vic. Until the falcons get another lights out DE, Vic is going to have a tough time. He's been getting swallowed in by the bigger and wider tackles thus far year.

One promising thing I would say is that I've seen Vic being moved around from both sides of the line more this year than last year. I've also noticed Vic in the OLB position too. That means that the coaches are more confident in Vic's command of the playbook since this is his second year. Good things in store.

DT2000

I appreciate your response and discussion on the topic. You're correct, Von Miller does have a good supporting cast, which enables him to get the numbers He has. I think if the Falcons can draft/pick up another DE - Like Beasley and OLB with a High Motor, Big, Long Arms and fast- Beasley would be ready to shine by his next year with double digits then. I think His change of position has helped as well. He's climbing.

Vic's just raw that's all. Is Von Miller smarter? No. ...Faster?No .....stronger? Nope.

Someone check Von millers sophomore and rookie stats. Gaurantee you Beasley's stats hold up.

lol yea I wasn't sure what point he was trying to make. Von has been a beast the min he donned his Denver jersey. Defensive rookie of the year and a pro bowl his first season, but what makes it the most impressive is that he went from playing a 4-3 at A&M to playing the 3-4 at Denver. He had to learn a whole new technique and scheme. Vic has a while before he can get to that level.

Well Von Miller has been in the running for DPOY every year that he's played (with the exception of the one where he was suspended a lot), so IDK.
