Basketball players switching to Football

Today I saw a story about Coastal Carolina guard Colin Granger signing a contract to play TE for the Panthers. He is 6'8 240 but hasn't played football since 8th grade. I though football players switched to basketball after getting hit too hard, but if now we are gonna start recruiting basketball players I would suggest calling Olivier Rioux from Florida to come play WR for Clemson. At 7'9 I don't think anyone would be able to catch the ball over him. If we cough up some NIL I think we could get him.

I mean I've begun the switch to full time golfer and pick up basketball so I guess they still do.

They often switched from basketball to football when they werent going to do well in the NBA or make it. Antonio Gates comes to mind. Jimmy Graham only played 1 year of college basketball.
