I suspect our pitching, which IS suspect, is what kept us from jumping farther up the ladder. Just keep winning, Tigers!

FSU hit 18---nope---11 homers (I stand corrected) and lost the series. 11. Let that sink in.....yes, pitching is a concern.

I'm with you. I thought for sure we'd be 1 or at the least 2. It's no different in bball, football, baseball, or any other sport. Propped up SEC. FSU’s win over fla guess doesn't count.
I do understand to a point about our pitching. But we easily forget that Samol was going to be our Friday ace. We could have Tallent in the line-up, out with injury too. Smith, not available for this series.
I understand it's spilt milk but can you imagine if we had a healthy: Samol - out for year Tallent - who knows? Smith - Hopefully temporary
No doubt if we had those 3 at our disposal we would be undefeated and ranked #1.

It’s absolutely SEC bias.

Probably due to 5 of the past 6 national championships with 5 different teams in baseball.

Pretty sure they said Florida keeps winning weekend series but losing midweek games. They have back-to-back series wins against #4 A&M and #8 LSU (on the road).

Because D1 baseball doesn't care about midweek games and doesn't drop teams for winning weekend series.
D1 baseball is probably the stickiest ranking group in all of college sports.

Preseason rankings should have zero to do with these rankings yet they keep OR state and Arkansas ahead of the tigers. Look at who they’ve played. As of 03/25/2024 Clemson should absolutely be #1. It’s really not close, but because they were already ahead of us they don’t want to move them down.

No SEC Bias at all in these polls. FL 14-9 ranked 4th and 6th in the polls. Vandy gets swept by SC, but instead of dropping Vandy like a rock, they just move SC up. We're 7-1 against top 15 teams and #1 in FPI, #2 in SOS. I'm sure it'll all pan out in the end out should, but some of this just doesn't add up.

Baseball polls are about as useless as it gets

It is a percentage of recruiting minus the actual team results, with recruiting the best players still having a large amount of sway in the ranking system.
Otherwise how in the heck is Florida in the top 10 at this moment. 14-9, no team should be ranked with that kind of record at this point in the season. Yes Florida is probably a good team, but results have to matter or otherwise why bother playing the games.
Don't lose much sleep over it, as long as our Tigers keep playing well and figure out the pitching a little bit. With this great start it allows for that let-down that can and does eventually happen a lot of times when players start reading the press instead of focusing on the game. It is natural and the way this team played this weekend, I am ecstatic about the future of Clemson baseball.

This right here. I was tuned into their game this weekend and saw they were #6 with a 12-9 record. Without caring enough to look it up, I assumed their SOS had to be #1. Guess that's not the case.
Tigers just need to keep winning and the rest will sort itself out.

I know it's not a big deal but this is silly we are not #1. Why????

1. We have the highest winning percentage in the country. (91.7%) 2. We have the most win in the country. (22) 3. We have the most quadrant 1 (RPI) wins in the country at 13. 2nd place only has 9 4. We just won series against two top-10 teams in a row, one away and one we swept at home.

the obvious forever.
Clemson will be fine. Focus on the game, rankings mean little to nothing in baseball so if you win then the obvious result will be a high ranking.
Certainty: Bias exist so rankings are a popularity contest, not just about results.

This is the section of Q1-Q4 records for teams in the RPI
At the top at 13-2 vs Q1 and 4-0 vs Q2 is Clemson
From top to bottom (1-4) in the picture, it goes Clemson, FSU, Arkansas, Oregon State
I don’t know what else there is to say, that’s plain BS

Baseball America just released theirs and put us #2 behind Arkansas (19-3 overall, 5-1 in SEC and 1-0 vs Top 25). I feel we have an argument as #1 with a 22-2 record 5-1 vs ACC and 4-1 vs Top 25. Probably some SEC bias there. As others have said, just keep winning! AND figure out a pitching rotation/help from the bull pen...
