Georgia Tech scored 16 runs and left 11 men on base! That totals to 27 base runners and they only had eight innings to play offensively. That kind of pitching will get you beat EVERY TIME.

Its going to be a long, frustrating year on the baseball diamond. I don't think we'll see good baseball before 2025.

Right now, I think Bakich was a great hire and will get this straightened out with better pitching recruiting.

Really the pitching was good 2 of the 3 games. The opener we had some fielding errors with Cam out. The second game was definitely forgettable. The final game we pitched well.

We also beat them 14-5. We also lost to Duke in a Friday game leaving a huge amount of guys on base. We have done that same thing that GT did all season.
If you don’t believe the talent on that roster is tops in the ACC/Country, you don’t understand Clemson baseball and the location we are in. We may not make postseason, but I can assure you Bakich knows what he’s doing with this program. It’s only his first season. Our performance doesn’t match our talent right now, but we’ve seen flashes of what’s to come.
I believe once the recruiting begins to target a lot more pitching we will start to rise back to elite.

Touched on some of this. Then I looked. Listed, imo, is why our results are lacking.
Gone from our pitching rotation, medical, other:
Caid Byrd
Camden Troyer
Mack Anglin
Geoff Gilbert
Ricky Williams
Ammons- medical
Grice - never given opportunity to pitch last year but he seems to be good. He WAS recruited to pitch.
Olenchuck - no progress
Dill - perhaps regressed
Barlow - was hurt but no progress
Hitting :
Samek- good hitter but not sure why he's not on the team
French- he was a good hitter and coots using him DH some
Hawkins- good bat
Wagner- great fielder and bat
That's a lot of great talent. Look at our roster on who coach is playing and pitching. Mostly freshman. Even will Taylor I consider a freshman. So I think come May, we'll be a much better team.
