Clemson/South Carolina: At Large Play-In game

Clemson was absolutely one of the biggest winners from a weekend of chaos.
Teams that dropped losses today:
#5 Indiana #7 Alabama #9 Ole Miss #14 BYU #15 Texas A&M #16 Colorado
The Tigers and Gamecocks essentially have a play-in game for an at large spot in the CFP.
Wow.

Not sure a 3 loss Coot team gets in over the other 3 loss teams.

We are fast approaching where a 3 loss team will get in the playoff.
If there is one, it will be from the SEC.
And SCAR's resume, if they won over us, would be just as good as Bama's or Ole Miss or Texas A&M. The difference is they would be on a 6 game win streak.

No. He’s right. To the committee it’s how you finish, and a team from the SEC on a SIX game win streak with FOUR over top 25 teams would get them in. Hopefully we just beat them soundly so we don’t even have to dream of a scenario where the coots ever sniff close to a CFP.

Ole Miss stomped the coots. No way they get in over them. Ole Miss out also.
Texas Georgia Tennessee are the three SEC teams that will get in.
Big 10 has the best shot at getting four teams in.

In order for the coots to get in they would have to beat us this week and pray for more chaos like this past weekend. I don’t think a win alone gets them in; just as I think a win over them alone won’t get us in without help.

They would be based on the chaos of today. Even 8-3 Bama is being talked about. If Auburn beats Bama next weekend and the coots somehow beat us they’ll 100% be in the CFP sadly.

It is more for Clemson than it would be for SC...but, don't underestimate SC being a CFP darling if they take down the Tigers.

I see a road for the Tigers I guess. Not then even if they win Saturday. They he lost to other 3 loss SEC teams like Bama and Miss I believe..

Anything’s possible but I refuse to believe we would get a playoff spot with a win. SEC gets a three loss team in before ACC gets an at large spot. Just my opinion.

I don't know. Stranger things have happened. Have to give Beamer credit, though. They were once 3-3. They beat decent teams on the road handily. More chaos will definitely ensue the last week.

3 loss Coots are not getting in over 3 loss Ole Miss. Ole Miss man handled them and the coots win over aTm looks less impressive now and especially after Texas slaughters them next week and gives them a 4th loss.

Would love to see the yardbirds like at 15.

I don’t see it not being possible that Clemson is any lower than 12. No other combo makes sense honestly.

Honestly no, but this is the cfp committee you’re talking about here.
Worth remembering tenn could still lose to vandy, uga to tech, and Bama (if they’re still alive) to Allbarn.

Honestly what makes the most sense is to take 3 from each conference at this point.
Oregon, Oh St, Penn St Texas, UGA, UT Miami, SMU, Clemson Boise - G5 Presume ASU is Big12 ND gets last at large
Boom that’s 12. Everyone has an even shot and it’s the best every conference can offer.

I think you are right Grayson should clemson beat south carolina there is not a real good argument to keep them out.......even if Miami beats syracuse.
The SEC championship game will end up being Georgia and Texas. An absolute catastrophic scenario for the SEC would be if Texas A&M beats Texas next week and Georgia Tech beats Georgia
In that scenario the SECC game loser would absolutely be out because it would be 4th loss for either team.
even if Georgia beats georgia tech like expected and Texas beats A&M would be interesting to see what they would do if Georgia lost the SEC championship game and had 3 losses.......or.......what if Texas loses to A&M and then also loses to Georgia.....3 losses.

The coots would need more help. They would likely need Bama and Ole Miss to lose since they lost to both of them. A&M loss to Auburn doesn’t help their resume either.
Tigers beating the coots would put us right on the boarder. The problem I see is that 3 ACC teams will not get in. So if Miami beats Syracuse and plays SMU in the acc championship, then the committee has to decide between Clemson and the 2 loss ACC champ loser

You guys are crazy if you think this game matters for either team as far as the playoff goes. Neither team is getting an at large bid. We can ONLY get in if we happen to win the ACC. SC has no chance of getting in. Period. Stop playing mental gymnastics and torturing yourselves with different scenarios. It’s not happening.
