Saturday's DEMOLITION of App State was one of the most fun games (well, halves) I've witnessed in a long time.
But boys, I have bad news:
Last year we got drubbed by ole D00K and then went on to beat Charleston Southern pretty badly (although it was 24-17 at half) and then went on to eat cupcake #2 vs FAU.
We then lost to a solid FSU team, a couple more wins, and then a couple more losses before righting the ship.
I'm confident this year won't be a repeat of last year.
We have weapons on offense that we've not had since TL16 in 2020 (ETN, Amari, Ross, and Powell) or 2019 (those guys + Higgins and Overton).
We've got a mature QB who looks like he's poised to win.
Our defense is young but has shown some character and has already played the best team in the country - and stood their ground (don't eat me too much for this).
So, not all bad news but we'll know more when North Carolina State comes to Tigertown next weekend.

I'm cautiously optimistic.
I was there from '14 - '19 (worked in Clemson after I graduated).
I've seen the good and the bad.

with the upper classmen half of the WR's hurt. That's not the case this year. WITHOUT injuries, ALL WR's looked like they're SUPPOSED to Saturday.
Some people need to really remind themselves what really took place in 21,22 & 23.

Inexperienced coaches didn’t develop players well, nor did the coaches put them in positions to excel, which led to us underperforming as a team.
To compound matters, our head coach refused to use the transfer portal to bring in experienced players who could help, and also criticized NIL and refused to use it to the fullest.
The end result is a program that has declined, and now has an identity as one that’s too proud and stubborn to change with the times.

THE TRANSFER PORTAL WAS OR IS NOT THE REASON! #### you are a hard headed Dabo hater! We have talent. Every year will not be great. I wish that was not so but it’s the truth.
Focus on basketball and see if you can figure out why the transfer portal has not won an ACC championship.

At the risk of sounding like the old man telling stories... you sir have not been burned.
Once you live through Tommy West boring teams and Bowden 5yr Jeykll & Hyde routine, then you'll know burned. It took me years to get over the anxiety of being up 14pts and wondering how we will blow it (Bowden yrs)

While this is true, App State is head-and-shoulders above those programs, and we beat them worse. It’s not just about the fact that it’s a blowout. Look at HOW it happened. 56 points and eight scoring drives in the first half, with a ton of huge plays through the air, is something we have not seen in a long time.

If you think Charleston Southern and App State are the same you’re an idiot. Also if you think the 66 scored in those games you’re an idiot. Show me one time Trevor or Deshaun’s offenses took 8 straight drives to TDs.

App State is on another level from Charleston Southern and FAU. Even then, those two teams pushed our OL around worse than Georgia did this year. Despite the result of the UGA game, this team is way ahead of last year offensively.

The Clemson offense hasn’t sniffed anything close to the success this past Saturday in over 4 years. Even in games where the score was lopsided the offense struggled mightily. There was no struggle on Saturday. 92% completion 7 tds from Cade, offensive line dominating, running backs finding holes. 56 points in the first half. This is different.

That was a complete mess for a half. Klubnik had some terrible plays. It was nothing like App State

Yep, I distinctly remember an ESPN announcer after the Chas So game saying our offense was still suspect. Nobody is talking that way after this game.

App State is a little better than Char. Southern so I hope this is a good sign. If the two freshman improve each week we are in business. Lets face it, nothing against Turner or Brown, but it was not like they were even recruited by App St. We have big time receivers on this team that are better than most 2 and 3 star players. Randall was a 4 star but sometimes players do not pan out. Brown, Turner, or Randall doesn't run by App Db's like 12 and 1 on this team.
