6th street is full of your typical college bars and should be fun this weekend, just don’t stay out there too late. Weekends get kind of wild, tons of live music places
I would skip franklins BBQ unless you want to get in line at 8AM. Go about 2 miles up that same street to La Barbecue, just as good.
Upstairs at Caroline’s is a cool spot downtown, rooftop bar too.
Pint House is my favorite brewery, try the Electric Jellyfish IPA. Good Pizza too.
Joe Rogan has a comedy club there, if you can get tickets.
Any questions? I live up near Dallas, but down there quite a bit.

Hasn't half of California escaped and moved to Austin in the last 5-10 years. I hope they didn't bring their voting habits and ruin it too.

Austin is pretty liberal, but they don’t like football so you’ll be good. You can go to the Capital Building, always some protest going on.

They did! Austin has grown from a sleepy big college town back in the 70's to a full blown liberal mecca nowadays. All those Hippies that descended on the Texas Hill Country back then are now high tech nerds or government employees. You will find the attitudes very similar to those of Washington, D.C, except with a cowboy hat and a drawl and the women are WAY prettier.

Fonda San Miguel or Habenero. That’s the only ones I’ve had, both amazing. Fonda is Elon Musks favorite too.

Alright, as someone from Austin, I'll add to this.
Sixth Street is ok early, but once it starts getting later and the youngins show up, head to the warehouse district for a more enjoyable time.
Franklin's BBQ is great, but not worth the wait. Get an Uber and head to The Salt Lick for the best BBQ you've ever had.
Pluckers is always a good spot for wings.

- BBQ Connoisseurs - Go to Terry Black's BBQ. Might be a long line but it moves quick and is VERY much worth it.
- Bourbon Drinkers - If you're into the the really good stuff, make a reservation at Kinfolk, a bourbon bar beneath Moonshiners, in the oldest Cellar in Austin.
- Tacos Eaters - I promise you, you will NOT have a better Taco than Taqueria 10 de 10 www.instagram.com/taqueria10de10 They're so good and not expensive.
- Ice Ball Cocktail consumers - swiftsattic.com has a great bar, food, snacks and amazing Ice Ball Old Fashioneds.
- Pizza - Especially after a few too many drinks on 6th street, Get some Pizza at Roppolo's.
