Calm down, Calm down, lets hand this guy our D and see what what what he can do with our D talent. If Tom Allen is worth his overpaid college FB salary, we will stop losing some of that elite D talent that has been turning around and going another way. If Allen's hire can put the brakes on with full force of HC's and coordinators from talking down our coaches to the elite recruits we've been going after, then he'll be worth the overpaid salary with the best of them...
I can't answer why not, but for some reason I'm not feeling the excitement that I felt with the Brent Venables hire, what am I missing out on?

After seeing these videos and learning more, hopefully you’re beginning to see why this guy is exactly what we need. The defense will feed off this coach and play their tails off for him. Total 180 in emotion. A more energetic and aggressive defense for sure. More focused and more physical. Let’s gooo!

Thanks for the link. It was a good sit-down and insightful from 7 years ago. He seems to be really good at finding talent and not just chasing stars. Hope he holds true on his philosophy of not giving up the easy stuff. A team like ga tech could beat us with the dink and dunk long drives if you're just giving them the easy out cuts etc.
Llikes his philosophy with corners too. Seems to teach good techniques on getting their head turned around. Same with the 2s and 3s having to stay engaged in practice and being ready.
Really interested to see his recruiting. If you look at 247, he didn't have many 93+ guys high 4 stars. Good stuff. Definitely exciting.

Thanks for posting that.
I like his focus on backside pursuit..... just hope he coaches players to not overrun the play from the backside..... one of our biggest flaws this year.
