That line judge has one job & that is to watch for things like offsides. The Ga Tech player almost made contact with the Wake player & the ref still missed it. Refs miss plays sometimes but that one miss call cost a team a win that’s inexcusable. The ref should be fired immediately. Either they are incompetent or the fix was in. Either way they should be gone.

But they never showed a view directly down the line (the linesman’s view) to show definitively he didn’t get back on side. But yeah, it sure looks like a blown call
But…. The biggest problem in that play was the WF QB deciding that thinking he had a free play was the time to throw deep to a covered receiver rather than taking either of the 2 wide open underneath receivers for a first down.
Additionally, I generally like the idea of going for 2 as the underdog when the other team has been rallying at that point in OT, but I think when you lose the RB that got you the TD on the play prior it might be a better idea to take the xp (unless they were worried about kicking) . Unless of course the injured RB wasn’t gonna be able to get back out there on the next possession

I hear you Thom but that ref had to be blind to not be able to see the gt player was in the backfield. Even the announcers said he won't like seeing that film.
But at least they missed the opportunity to give a little payback on that poor decision to throw a PI on the next play or 2 which was borderline at best.
ACC ref's gonna ref...

Nobody calling for him to be crucified just held accountable. Like I said refs are going to miss some, but the difference is that one blown call likely cost a team a win. And, I am sorry you don’t have to see the view down the line to know he was offsides. ####, even the ACC official in the booth said it was a blown call. They almost never do that to fellow officials in a game unless they are completely sure. More times than not the booth official is going to cover for the game officials even when they get a call wrong. That call was missed so badly he couldn’t justify it.

Obviously I didn’t think actual crucifiction was on the table.
I repeat I think he was likely offside, but I also didn’t have the view down the line that the linesman did.

I would have kicked an extra point too however did you see that the Georgia Tech defensive player chip the TE as came off (Which threw the TE off and then was picked up) I guarantee he would have been open against Clemson’s Defense.

Didn’t bite on the roll to the right, and the defender coming in from the left did an excellent job keeping the QB from
