Arizona Tournament History last 20 years

I know as a Clemson fan, degrading another program’s tournament history is very ironic. That’s why I’m not trying to degrade, just inform. But this is Arizona since 2004..
The point is to show that this is the round they slip up in. Not compare to our history
2023: Arizona reached the Sweet 16 before being eliminated by Baylor. 2022: Arizona advanced to the Elite Eight but fell to Kansas. 2021: The Wildcats made it to the Sweet 16 but were defeated by Gonzaga. 2020: The NCAA tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2019: Arizona was eliminated in the first round by Buffalo. 2018: The Wildcats were upset in the first round by Buffalo. 2017: Arizona reached the Sweet 16 but lost to Xavier. 2016: Arizona advanced to the Sweet 16 but were defeated by Wichita State. 2015: The Wildcats made it to the Elite Eight but lost to Wisconsin. 2014: Arizona reached the Elite Eight but fell to Wisconsin. 2013: The Wildcats made it to the Sweet 16 but were defeated by Ohio State. 2012: Arizona was eliminated in the first round by Bucknell. 2011: The Wildcats reached the Elite Eight but lost to Connecticut. 2010: Arizona was eliminated in the first round by Memphis. 2009: The Wildcats made it to the Sweet 16 but were defeated by Louisville. 2008: Arizona was eliminated in the first round by West Virginia. 2007: The Wildcats reached the Sweet 16 but lost to UCLA. 2006: Arizona advanced to the Elite Eight but fell to Villanova. 2005: The Wildcats reached the Sweet 16 but were defeated by Illinois. 2004: Arizona made it to the Elite Eight but lost to Oklahoma State.
Very susceptible to losing this type of game.
I’ve also been watching Arizona through this season. They really are not that good. They are nowhere in the realm of “overmatching” Clemson.
Pretty similar to Baylor, but they have a good big man. But again, we’ve beaten better centers like Bacot and DJ Burns.
Caleb Love is not the same as he was at UNC during that title run. In my opinion. He’s a really good player, but I don’t think he dominates games like he used to

There would be no discussion of Brad or No Brad, if he had that kind of record.

So they've made it to at least the sweet 16 fourteen times out of the last twenty years! And have not missed out on the tournament once!
Wow...

Just remembering how really good Arizona Basketball was back when Lute Olsen was the head coach as they dominated the PAC 10 and always it seemed finish Top 10 nationally and had a National Championship

Clemson basketball is not in the historic level of Arizona. Of course.
But there’s obviously a pattern of losses in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8.
And another obvious is that a lot of those programs that beat them were not clearly better than Arizona.
We should all know that Arizona has been a consistent program of success in basketball for a long time. But this history I posted is an underwhelming part of their expectation.
I’d kill for this type of success, but Arizona basketball fans have been living in a merry go round for 20 years. And it’s not the merry go round that Clemson has been in.

Ummm what I see here is Arizona has made it fairly deep in the tournament almost every year for 2 decades.
Not saying we don't have a chance because we must certainly do if we play well but this information isn't really relevant

Well, the PAC-12 is easier to play in than the ACC.
I think it’s obvious that he’s benefiting from worse comp because his points per game only went up like 1.4 points from last year at UNC.
Just don’t give me any of that. Arizona is underwhelming. Their offensive and defensive stats and everything show whatever, they play in the worst P5 basketball conference and just the worst P5 conference in general.
Clemson is just as good as Arizona. We all saw it during the non conference. The difference is, the ACC is just harder to win in. There’s a difference of 3 losses on both of our records. And they are a 2-seed, and we are a 6.
This is ridiculous. Arizona should not be a 2-seed. We got a good draw. Because you out Clemson in the PAC-12, they would have 8 losses as well, maybe less.

Greetings from an Arizona fan. Certainly not looking past Clemson and I'm expecting a very hard fought game. The ACC is no joke. hat this helps Arizona, but there are some mistakes regarding our tournament history. In 2003, and 2018 we got bounced in the first round. We didn't make the tournament in 2019. When we make it to the Sweet 16, there's a 50% chance we move on to the Elite Eight. Being the homer that I am (you can appreciate that, I think) I'm predicting an Arizona win pulling away late. 82-74.
2004 9 1st Round 2005 3 Elite Eight 2006 8 2nd Round 2007 8 1st Round 2008 10 1st Round 2009 12 Sweet Sixteen 2011 5 Elite Eight 2013 6 Sweet Sixteen 2014 1 Elite Eight 2015 2 Elite Eight 2016 6 1st Round 2017 2 Sweet Sixteen 2018 4 1st Round 2022 1 Sweet Sixteen 2023 2 1st Round
