Are the Dolphins really that cheap and stupid that they are

willing to let Christian Wilkins walk away in free agency in a couple years, rather than give him a new contract? The man has proven everything you can prove on a football field, and is certainly deserving of a new contract and extension. The Miami ownership and management team is dropping the ball, big time.
Wilkins is only asking for what several of his peers have already gotten, he is not trying to "reset the market", as they say.

Their GM already said they agree he needs a new contract and are just working out the details.

smartest guys around, and I don't think he is going to settle for less than comparable to what his peers have recently gotten. His stats AND his leadership say he deserves every cent of it.

Trying to negotiate an "Oil Check" clause into the mix.

I follow Miami closely (lifetime fan -- yep, it's been tough since Marino retired 😂).
AFAIK, all indications have been MIA wants to resign him. Coaches and fans love him. If he's let go there would be plenty upset about it but this franchise ain't exactly been ran like a tight ship in some time so not exactly out of character to not do something boneheaded.
Last season was probably the most exciting as a fan in idk how many years so hopefully we keep doing the right things.

That QB worries me with all the concussions. I hate to say but for his long term health I believe he should have hung up his cleats.

Yeah, I wouldn't blame Tua if he had hung up the cleats. Personally, I wasn't on the Tua bandwagon when we drafted him -- I really wanted the Phins to be in it for the TLAW sweepstakes or to get DW4 before all the controversy.
That said, he's grown on me so hope he succeeds but wouldn't be surprised to see him back on the IR at some point. Phins OL being good hasn't been a thing in idk how many years.

Tua had it ROLLING before those concussions. He was on a great track. Hopefully he gets back there.
He apparently also took some coaching on absorbing hits better. Maybe that will help with the injuries…

Agree. Would be nice to see him move up to Jacksonville.

As you have probably read, they don’t consider him as disruptive in the passing game as many of his peers (like Dex) that have gotten the big contracts. And I don’t disagree. However, while not dominant and constantly demanding double teams on passing downs like others - he does a whole lot awfully well.
I’ve been a ‘Fins fan since the days of WoodStrock and would hate to lose Christian. In the end, I am very happy having him anchor the middle and I hope they can come to an agreement.
