And shooting for the stars (pun intended) with sincere and fingers-crossed hopes that these current high school commits will blossom with expected growth in stature, technique improvement & college coaching prowess rather than going for the 5-stars as in the past.
Of course, there doesn't seem to be a flood of 5-star QB's begging to play at Clemson which may be a reason for a different avenue to acquire one that may hopefully lead to the glory-land sought.

Who are the 3 star QB's other than back-ups? Klubnik (starter), Vizzina (future starter) and Hebert (next year incoming freshman) are all 4 stars.
We went after 5 star QB's but did not get them (Lagway).
He may bring in and recruit a 3 star or two at QB but that is for depth usually.

100% he’s bringing in a 3 star to be a backup since we didn’t get a qb in 2024. OP that’s no big deal, they believe in Tait.

The 2026 kids have 2 more years before they come, they may have 6 star recruits by then with how fast things are changing in college FB!!!!

Recruiting is hard and sometimes you can take a bath, put on clean clothes but the girl still says no when you ask her out. Give me some good offensive linemen, running backs and receivers and I can win with a 3 star QB.

Kid from Arizona has 2 seasons left, being a 3 star already is impressive tbh. If he develops in the next 2 years I can see him jumping up to a 4 star and dependent on how much he develops possibly a 5 star.

We’ve recruited well at the QB position.
Klubnik was a 5 star, Elite 11 QB. Vizzina was ultimately downgraded from 5 to a 4 star, but also Elite 11. DJ was a 5 star.
We have missed on a few QBs lately, but continue to get good ones.
The only 3 stars I know of are being added for depth, not because we are placing our hopes and dreams on them.

A nerve or two here..but my premise was sorta true in that no great 5-star QB's want us (hello little Manning) thus we are going with our in-house 4-5 Stars who are not near the talent of DW4 or TL16 but are serviceable with fingers crossed until the 3-4 stars here and in high school mature & grow.

Not sure when we see another Lawrence or Watson in our backyard again. We were lucky to get those two. Not to say we can’t again but if a day one NFL draft pick at QB is the only way you can win big then the wait may be long. UGA won two with Stetson Bennett who was more of a game manager.
Winning in the trenches and a few great skill players (Ex. Brock Bowers) can go a long way.
I’d rather see a 4 star or underrated 3 vs pulling another over rated guy from the West Coast.
