Will be a disappointment. Georgia is the only team better on paper. This is Clemson football. No excuses.

Depends on how much Cade improves. Improves a lot, we could beat Georgia. No improvement, possibly another 8-4 year.

This is it. Without better Oline play, we’re not beating the best three teams on our schedule

The goal is to get to the playoff, and whatever it takes to do that, has to be done. Clemson has more advantages than 95% of the other programs in the country, no excuse with a returning QB, OL, extremely talented defense, and one of the highest paid coaching staffs in the country not to be one of the final 12.

Sorry, but that’s not really realistic. Will most likely lose to Georgia, and one other game at least. I think nine and three with an opportunity to make the 12 team playoff is a great season for Clemson this year.

Low? This team was 8-4 last year, nine and three with a chance for a 10th win would be an improvement. I for one don’t believe the offense is magically going to get better.

out there.
Our D is going to be light's out ahead. I'm talking Big Nasty. With so many healthy WR's heading into camp this time around, and new attitudes and perspectives in the trenches, I think you're spot on there.
If there's an L, it won't be UGA. We gonna stomp those mutts into a mudhole but good.
Go Tigers!

I fully expect us to go 9-3 or 10-2, but in my opinion that will be a disappointment considering the roster we have and the coaches on staff.
We really have no excuses to not go 11-1 with a chance to win the ACCCG and secure a fairly highly playoff seed. We are fully capable. Limit the self-inflicted turnovers and penalties and we should be hard to beat.

10-2 would be a great season. Hopefully it an amazing one but saying 10-2 is a disappointing season is ridiculous.

I fully agree anything other than 11-1 should be considered a disappointment but then I realize it’s not 5 years ago anymore.
This is not an 11-1 team on paper. 9-3/8-4 is what we are on paper. Until this program proves themselves among the nations elite again… you are what your record says you are.
Georgia is almost for certain a loss. I believe we’ll lose at FSU as well and I believe we’ll lose one of the back to back road games against Pitt or VT.
Watch out for App St. People can laugh if they want but we’ll be coming off the Georgia game and more than likely be highly disappointed with that result and then we turn right around and host App St. it’s a perfect setup for an ambush.
NC St right after won’t be a pushover either. Doeren as much as I can’t stand him seems to get those guys up for Clemson. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that we’re staring at 0-3.
Do I think that will happen? No but it’s not inconceivable either. Starting this season with Georgia is the absolute worst time to draw a game like that with as much uncertainty hanging over the program as theirs been in over a decade.

Prepare to be disappointed. I think Georgia and Virginia Tech are 2 losses. FSU could go either way.

Yeah. VT has really been building a juggernaut since Beemer retired. It’s honestly hard to remember the last time they gave us a legit scare. What was it, 2007 the last time the Hokies beat us. Great call. Lol

We have two ways to make the playoff:
1. Win the ACC Championship 2. Beat UGA, lose the ACC Championship, but finish 12-1
We will not make the playoff if we lose 2 or more games unless we win the ACC Championship and we are unlikely to play for the ACC championship with two conference losses.

Do we play Miami this year? Take a look at their roster. If ward stays healthy they will be in the ACC championship.

That's why you play the games... to see how you stack up. As always we'll only be as good as the number of games we win. I always focus on the amount of effort you put into the contest. Even though you do your best, you don't always win. There's always a bigger fish...

I agree 11-1 is possible, but anything less being disappointing is a bit over the top.
This team has a lot of areas that they simply are not even close to elite. The main one being they do not have a killer instinct. Last year prime example of 4 games where Clemson lost, and each one was very winnable without absolutely astonishing miscues and lack of execution. Those things happen, mistakes and miscues are part of the game. Let us hope this off-season has seen drastic improvements because UGA opening night could resonate through the entire season...for the good or the bad that comes from opening night.
An execution issue is highly problematic. Fumbling is a problem. Throwing passes up for grabs is a problem. Missing blocking assignments is a problem. These are not as easy fixes, guys have got to step up and play at high level.
You could be right and I sure hope you are, but I can also see this team losing 3 or 4 games yet again. Say what you will and stay blind to what is happening, but Clemson no longer towers over the ACC and other teams have progressed substantially.
