Anyone wanna talk some Football? What are your thoughts on

1. Why has Florida (who is the State School in the state of Florida, which borders Georgia) not been able to recruit a QB since Tim Tebow/Cam Newton came in under Meyer? I understand that Will Muschamp knew nothing about Offense, but neither has Mcilwain (who is supposed to be an Offensive guy).

2. This seems like a Crossroads year for UNC Football. 2015: 11-3 / ACC Coastal Division. 2016: 8-5...(Despite returning a ton of NFL talent including Mitch Trubisky, Elijah Hood, Ryan Switzer and Bug Howard) dropped 3 of their last 4 games including games to rivals NC State and Duke. In addition to all of those guys being gone for 2017, DC Gene Chizik will not return. Larry Fedora continues to make questionable in-game coaching decisions. Their last 3 recruiting classes finished 31st, 28th, and 35th. 2017 schedule is, if nothing else, considerably tougher than their 2015 Cakewalk to Charlotte, and includes Cal, Louisville, Notre Dame, Miami, NC State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Pitt. What do you think? in position to Reload and manage this Schedule? or cause for concern that the program might drop back down to the a mid-lower ACC Coastal team?

Not sure on either but possibly

at Florida the coaches seem to believe they only need a strong D to win games and the O gets some skill players but not great QB's. Not sure why they continue this trend but I'm OK with it.

As for unc - I hope they jump right back on the stink train!

Not likely we will find out how good orbad they areon the field this year. More interested in VT.

I was reading some articles on Florida sites re QB issues

This article goes so far as to say if McElwain can't field a serviceable QB this year, he's gone

1. Recruiting isn't the problem, developing them and no identity on offense is their main problem.

2. UNC will be middle of the pack this year. UNC football = slightly more successful Clemson Basketball.

To answer #1 Florida had a big time QB in Will Grier, question is if and when he plays again , was he just good because of the juice? Kid has an incredible arm, and watching him and Watson at Camps as HS players was insane. Time will tell, but if you don't look good in the mullets offense of WV, you dont have it.

#2 UNC will take several steps backwards imo. Lost a lot, recruiting was so so at best, and Fedora is a horrible game caller. Plus Chizik was actually an improvement as their DC. Now, tougher schedule, tougher division, I see them 3rd at best in their division.

"But he looks so good in argyle sweater vests"

So you know he's focused on the stuff that matters.
