Maybe if he would prepare his team better then fans wouldn't have been so upset. Convenient answer Dabo. But your team looked bad for a veteran offensive unit. I was very disappointed in the performance. And I'm not alone.

The only people I know who were disappointed in a Clemson win in an opener at a SEC school are people who lost money against the spread.
Even my Gamecock friends were not disappointed, they are happier when we lose but not disappointed when we win.

Yep, If BV wouldn't have had his NFL stripped defense ready for Aubarn, we would have surely lost that game in the plains. All summer, all off season, most Clemson fans wasn't to worried about our D needing time to get some experience to grow up. We didn't worry bc we were returning most of the starters on the offense with DW4, and we felt that they would most likely keep us in every game by scoring enough points to stay ahead. I will say, it's a ### good thing that BV is as good a DC that he is, bc if he wasn't, we would be 0-1 today bc Aubarn has just as good of players as we do, minus a DW4 type of QB. I do believe that our offense is as good as we believe them to be, but play calling kept them smothered up the middle of Aubarn's defense. Nuff said!!!

With no Notre Dame game this year and only the FSU game to provide us that boost (providing we win) we will need to convincingly stay in the National Playoff picture. We need to win EVERY game convincingly. JUST LIKE ALABAMA did. If we are to make it back into the play offs this year, we have to show NO MERCY! We MUST win every game like it is the National play off game. Everyone wants us out of the picture this year and will look for every way to exclude the Tigers. So...you just cannot JUST Win the game.....you must pound the other team. Sorry but there it is. GO TIGERS!!!!!!

This ^^^ is truly unbelievable. Clemson played well in my opinion, especially against a good Auburn team and in one of the more hostile environments we will see this season. I've seen much worse in my 66 yrs as a Clemson fan & alum. If you think otherwise you don't know college football

I must not know the game of football, I thought we went toe to toe with one of the best teams on our schedule. For the 1st half of FSUs game last night, I thought Auburn might be the best team on our schedule and they still might be. We might meet them again in the playoff....

Brilliant. Auburn was clearly an inferior opponent - NOT.
I'm glad we didn't repeat some of the best plays that worked well. Though I'm not sure what that would have shown other teams.
I'm glad we showed other teams that we can fumble, throw interceptions, run out of bounds when we need to stay in bounds, late hit a QB at critical time, have passes tipped by D line, and throw soft passes when they should be crisper. But most importantly showing that we are afraid to kick a 31 yard field goal that would clinch the game will really help us going forward. We really got our future opponents overconfident as they drool with anticipation of playing us.

We didn't look much like WRU Saturday.
By the way, I understand that good teams attack weaknesses. And there will be games where the defenses dare us to run the ball. But it appeared to me that Clemson's offensive advantage over Auburn was our WRs against their DBs. But I admit that I could be wrong about that. But it did look like Auburn's defensive line was a strength of their team, so running was tough.

No one is bitching that we didn't blow them out. Fans are and we're unhappy with the play calling. Run up the middle was not working that defensive line of Auburn was and is as advertised. I'm glad we won in a tough environment against a good football team I'm just perplexed at how all off-season our coaches raved about running back depth and we basically ran one all night. If it weren't for Williams then Watson may of had his lowest career total of yards in a game. But here's to a Tiger win and to many more.

Dabo just isn't getting it. What he's failing to realize, is that most fans accept the players making regular football type mistakes. I believe most fans are concerned about the game management decisions being made in the most critical situations. Between last years NCG and the game against Auburn, we are seeing a trend where coaching decisions are giving our competition better odds of winning. We dodged a bullet this past weekend in a game that should have and could have been put away.
Dabo has done a tremendous job bringing Clemson back to the top of the College Football world, but we may very well lose opportunities to make it to or win the NCG if we are missing the final pice of the puzzle with our in game decision making.

I certainly agree. I don't understand why he thinks that they need to run conservative offense at the beginning of every year. That's exactly what they did. Only one drive with the up tempo offense. The last drive that scored a TD. This guys don't know how to slow down. DeShawn has been running that type of offense since his freshman year in high school. What's there to hide? Everyone knows who they are and what they going to run. We have had this conversation over the last 3 year at the beginning of each season. Shut down in ND game too early and alost lost the game. Same at Louisville game and GA game 2014 which they lost. I thought that they also said that they would never go back to the prevent defense after the GA game. Which they did Saturday night and allowed Auburn to reach mid field. Let them play! There's nothing hide. Dabo is set to do it his way. It's not fare to the players. All they want is play and win.

I have heard at least one player talking about how smart the coaches are. The players also talk about the great fans we have... I have not heard one of them saying how smart the fans are.
